When can we expect the over-nights to be in? Hoping for big numbers. FA effect spiked every thing in MLS this year. I will take a 2 ratings point and be hppay till next season.

So, anything over a 1.0 will be considered good?

I would like a 1.5, but I doubt it will happen...

Media is saying 0.8. Down from last year. (probably reflects the fact that Chicago and San Jose/Really the Bay area not involved). None-the-less every soccer hater/basher in the media will know more about this rating tomorrow than anything about what was a good to at times very good match.

1.0 in the New York City market, per today's Star-Ledger.

"Not a bad Sunday afternoon for us this time of year. Considering what we usually have on, which isn't a world-beater, like golf, this was very respectable, especially considering what we were going up against."
-- Wayne Godsey, general manager of Channel 9 in Kansas City, where Sunday's MLS Cup received a 2.4 rating, which translates to more than 22,000 Kansas City area homes. Part of the MLS Cup went up against a Kansas City Chiefs football game, which drew a 33.9 rating (300,000 homes). After the Chiefs game ended, the MLS broadcast peaked at 4.2. (Kansas City Star)

Umm, Frank, that site just shows the results of a search, and the numbers you've pulled from it are from the link to Kenn Tomasch's site. If you actually follow the link, you see that those numbers aren't from this year's Cup. He's got the first two ABC game ratings, then a blank spot for the Cup, and then an average for all three games. Since the third game isn't there yet, the average is from the first two games, and the numbers you've posted are just that - the average ratings from the opener and the all-star game.
Good try though. Keep working on it. I'm sure one of those Portuguese sites will come through for you eventually.

Makes you wonder where he got all those posts. More than yours and mine added up, actually.

Interesting discussions across the boards on coverage of MLS and other media related topics.
Thought I could add to the discussion regarding MLS Cup ratings....
In Los Angeles (the market in which I am employed) - ratings for the MLS Cup were as follows:
HH: 1.0
M25-54: 0.8
M21-34: 0.8
These two male demos were the highest skewing of the 12 I track.
The game aired on KABC, channel 7 in Los Angeles.
Just more information to look at.

The overnights in Columbus show a 1.3 rating/2 share, but they improved dramatically after the Browns-Steelers game ended on the local CBS affiliate.
Until about 4:15, it was doing a 0.5 rating...afterwards, it got as high as a 2.2.

Can someone tell a lazy person from Houston what the Houston rating was or know a good place to find it?
