Rangers 2-0 up at half time against Celtic who have Alan Thompson sent off. Camara probably should have been sent off as well!

Justice is done. I wonder if MoN will complain about the physical nature of the Rangers team? More proof that without Larsson, Celtic are a clone of Leicester City.

Was reading the Sunday Gerald and the Scotland on Sunday on the way back down after yesterday's game and Saint Martin is quoted as saying:
"I think that my players' discipline in general was excellent."
And I'm led to believe he said this with a straight face!
Celtic lost the plot completely after the second goal. Camara should have been sent off for raising his hands to Rae, and definitely should have walked when he kicked Vignal (the linesman was no more than three yards away and Kenny Clark didn't even speak to the Senegalese striker about it).
McNamara, IMHO, should have been sent off also, and this nonsense about Novo standing on Pearson's head is just that.
I don't care if Lovenkrands went down quicker than a two-bob hooker when Thompson butted him, Celtic players have cornered the market in going down like a sack of spuds under minimum contact these last few years, but O'Neill informs us that, "I tell my players not to go down easily and play the game honestly." Aye, that'll be right!
Also, what was O'Neill doing at the final whistle, grabbing Lennon and gesturing to the few Celtic fans who stayed to the end? Lennon brings grief upon himself, spitting on a Rangers scarf is hardly going to endear him to the Ibrox crowd.
The only thing I was gutted about was that we didn't put seven past them, but fair play to Big Eck, all we needed to do was keep possession in the second half, and limit any jammy opportunites for them.
One point behind, 14 games unbeaten, a first league win over them in God kens how long -- I'm reasonably happy!

Celtic are just bad losers and even worse winners! The fact they act with so little dignity makes the win all the sweeter!

Biased views are funny :D
Yes, MoN is an idiot. But seriously if Petrov went down like lovenkrands did you'd be gettin right into him! Bottom line is that Lovenkrands tried to cheat to get Thompson sent off. He didn't need to, the ref might have sent him off anyway!
I think Rangers will go onto win the league, but then again I don't really care. We'd be better off without them both.

Petrov would have went down before any contact had been made.

True! However, I was trying to point out the hypocracy in what O'Neill said after the game. Everyone knows that over the past few years Celtic have turned conning officials into an art form. Now that the glove is on the other boot, they've got the nerve to cry foul. As BGM said, their behaviour in defeat is appalling.

Oh dear.
A disgrace, but not entirely surprising.
Amazing how the papers are claiming this was an "Old Firm shame game", when only one side brought shame upon it.
Joke McConnell is even getting in on the act:

Meanwhile, Celtic's executive director has contracted a nasty case of verbal diahorrea:

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOshaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
I must say, I eat my words, because at the start of the season, i was one of those who wanted big Eck out. But he is indeed the bomb.
Why are they syaing Lovenkrands takle was a disgraceful challange. He caught him late, I must have seen hundreds of them before, and a booking is what they usually get, and that is what he got, but then they say the ref had a nightmare, to be fair, I thought he done ok.
I thought Rangers should have got a couple more goals, but I suppose it will have to do, hufffffff!
Nacho Novo, D D Dado Prso, oh Nacho Novo, oh Dado Prso.
Rangers for the league, wooooo!

In terms of what actually happened on the pitch, I do think that the blame for the chaos witnessed on Saturday falls squarely at Celtic's door.
Aside from Lovenkrands going down too easily, what other actions by Rangers players can be deemed as shameful? Bob Malcolm got a bit excited on the bench when Novo scored, but that's about it.
As for Celtic...
Jackie McNamara is caught on camera telling Lovenkrands: "I'm gonnae break your fcuking legs." It has since been rumoured that Lovenkrands was pushed to the floor by a Celtic substitute in the tunnel at half-time and a Celtic first-team player then administered a bit of a booting.
Neil Lennon is caught on camera calling Alex McLeish a "fcuking Orange basturd."
Neil Lennon spat on a Rangers scarf, which was followed by Rangers fans chanting "Neil Lennon, you're a w@nker," and "Lennon, what's the score?" I'd be much obliged if someone could point out the racism and sectarianism in these chants as the Rangers fans have been accused of aiming "racist and sectarian" chants at Lennon by Martin O'Neill. O'Neill once claimed that Ian Ferguson was man enough to take a slagging from Celtic fans, why can't Lennon take it from us?
Martin O'Neill dragged Neil Lennon towards the Celtic fans when it looked like the player just wanted to get off the pitch. Why did he feel the need to do this?
Bottom line -- Celtic lost the plot, had two men sent off and it could have been four or five. When Rangers lose to Celtic (all too often over the past few years) they at least accept it with dignity. I've never seen McLeish parade a Rangers player in front of the away support in such a manner as O'Neill did on Saturday. We don't need O'Neill winding these lunatics up, look what happened when we beat them to win the league at Parkhead in '99, they were going mental (but, oh aye, it was a Rangers fan in the Celtic end who threw a coin at Dallas, it was a Rangers fan in the Celtic end who threw himself from the second tier, it was a Rangers fan in the Celtic end who tried to get on the pitch and attack the referee, etc...).
NO EXCUSES!
Sorry for going off on one, but there's no way Rangers should accept anywhere near 50% of the blame for the way the game transpired on Saturday, and therefore, IMHO, it's an inaccuracy to call it an "Old Firm" Shame Game.

PMSL!!!
Bob Malcolm just getting a little excited :D
Novo stamped on Pearson's neck!
Lovenkrands should pack and go back to Denmark, he's a crap player and an embarrasment!
The abuse Rangers fans give Lennon is shocking, I don't blame Lennon and MoN for being angry. Although they should've controlled themselves a bit more.
Ok, the Celtic players were worse, they lost the plot. But Rangers are also to blame. Many of their fans (as with Celtic) are a disgrace.
Bottom line is that Scotland would be better of without the Old Firm.

CW1980, in your first post you said the blame was "only one one side". I'm sure that's not true. Lovenkrands play acting was utterly shamefull. Thompson was not blameless but Lovankrands is a cheating wee ned. Still, I laughed when I saw that because Lennon did the exact same thing up in Aberdeen against ICT and it was nice to see that what went around came around.
Bob Malcolm is the most bigoted ********wit involved in Scottish football at the moement and I'm sure whatever he did was not inoccent in the slightest.
And, even without hearing any of the chants, I'd stake my life that there was some bigoted bilge coming from all over Ibrox.
Celtic were worse than Rangers on the day, Sutton, Thompson, Lennon and Camara were all guilty of idiotic behaviour and they deserved all they got, they are one of the biggest cheats in Scottish football and definately the worst losers.
Still, I'm not going to get stuck into either side as it was just an over-heated derby, it happens. You'll get insane games wheathr it's Rangers v Celtic, Hibs v Hearts or East Fife v Cowdenbeath, it;s part of the game and a big reason why we love.
