Andrulis is coach of the year...no seriously.

Also, Ching beat out Moreno for comeback player of the year.

It's quite obvious what is happening. Anyone who DIDN'T get to go to the cup is given an award as a sort of emotional bandaid. It's raising "parity" to a whole new level.

Please don't troll. We'll destroy each other on our own, thanks :)

That being said.

He "lead" a team that was picked at the beginning of the year to be the worst team in MLS to the best regular season record in MLS. What happens in the playoffs doesn't matter since the awards are voted on prior to the post-season beginning.

Not only that, they went undefeated for what-2 months or whatever heading into the playoffs? Incredible stuff.

A solid pick for coach of the year..........

I agree totally...most in the forum don't.

I'm just glad I will be gone all weekend in LA and won't have to deal with the fallout. :)

I'm not too surprised that Ching won this award. After all, he came back from a major injury as well. I'm also sure that once Moreno wins MLS Cup, this little nonsensical useless award won't even cross his mind. Do you think Jaime actually cared about it?

Andrulis! Ha!!!! The torture continues!!! I think Nowak deserved the award, but the squirming amongst Crew supporters negates that. What fun! Not only that they're all complaining about Chad Marshall getting beaten for ROY. Priceless (although Chad deserved it just as much as Clint IMO. either/or)

Whatever, I'd rather have the Cup.

I look at DC United from the first home game of last season against the Chicago Fire and contrast that with the team on a plane to LA for MLS Cup '04 and I can't help but marvel at what Nowak has done for DC United.

So I'm guessing you weren't one of the people organizing the protest rally's against Andrulis?

Most of the people on your board could use a dose of your perspective.

Well put, I agree. If we can all remember for a moment what Captain Nowak said "Do you know what separates the good teams from the great teams? Trophies!"

These awards are for the public and as far as I am concerned nothing really important. The only important thing all season, every season, is the Cup.

It's not taking parity to a new level - it's what happens when soccer parents run a professional sports league. "Okay Jaime and Peter, we know you didn't get an award, but here are some orange slices for each of you."
