"Now, we moved to the sixth-largest youth-soccer state in the nation in 34 years. We're at 106,000."
The state is currently overflowing with talent. College teams are anything but laughingstocks and punch lines now.
Six Washington programs have a chance of going deep into their upcoming NCAA tournaments and making a run at a national title. Included among those are the men's and women's programs from Seattle University and Washington and the women's programs from SPU and Puget Sound.
Consider that Seattle U. has NCAA Division II's top-ranked men's team and that SPU has NCAA Division II's top-ranked women's team.
