I hear they have a chance at making the Premiership for next season

Manchester United Reserves 6 - Arsenal First Team 0.
Kidding of course. Arsenal's lads looked great yesterday. Should be a good game. 3-2 United.

What do you think honestly? Are we gonna see the youngs lads get a run out or are Fergie and Wenger going to go for the jugular with the first teams?

The funniest part is gonna be the supporters who start in with the "we didn't care anyway, it's only the mickey mouse cup" rubbish once the match ends.

The easy way to remedy that would be another Father Ted/Coach_McGuirk bet thread.

Good point. Normally I wouldn't give a toss about the Carling Cup, but given our current form in the Premiership, winning anything at all is important. Plus there's always a certain joy in beating Arsenal. Seeing Wenger with his lips pursed, looking like he could kill someone is priceless. Then again, that's all the time isn't it?

Father Ted: Av only, since you chickened out on the Community Shield in what very well may have been my only chance for revenge this year?

I don't believe for a second that this draw was by happenstance...

Oh, come now, bigtoag. The FA wants everyone to come in for a "Peace Summit". Yeah, my ass. Can anyone say "We need some ratings for the Carling Cup"?
I'd say kids vs. kids. None of them have taken hacks at one another with anything on the line. A good chance to "blood" them in the "feud".

They had better sedate Wenger before this match.

Fulham v Chelsea
Man U v Arsenal
Hmmmm seems like a ratings game to me!!! I feel sorry for those desperate to see Wolves v Pompy on TV!!! :D
The kids will play, the supporters will come and the Micky Mouse Cup shall be won!!!!

I wonder if Al will play the kids... It's 90%+ that we've lost the league now and our 1st team are struggling for consistent form - I wouldn't be surprised if he fields a solid mostly-first team since the Carling Cup may be all we have this year (yes, we're still in others but you take your opportunities when you have them).
Also, it would be a terrible thing for Arsenal to lose twice to Man Utd - that could really cause some problems in morale whillst Arse are still in a league fight w/ Chelsea.
Interesting matchup... I would've much preferred this to be the final though!

Well, I just saw this:"We will play the same squad we played tonight and give it a real go," said Ferguson after Wednesday night's win at Old Trafford set up a clash against arch-rivals Arsenal.I guess Coach is right...

Why is the CarlingCup so maligned. Is the silver only plated?
It is a storied Cup with a history is it not?
Chelsea has said they "want" it and are fielding a slightly stronger side than one would expect.
I think the game v Arsenal will be another tough Battle. A physical affair with a few cards passed out.
