Did anyone catch that new Fox series Rebel Billionaire with Richard Branson of Virgin Atlantic fame. Only caught the last 15 minutes of the debut last night, but it was pretty compelling. To say that Branson is a risk taker, use to living life at the edge is an understatement. One smokin' girl dropped out because one of the stunts involved tow contestants on two similar planes getting out of an open cockpit bi-plane whilst in flight, getting on top of the top wing and strapping ones self to a body harness and then for one unlucky soul, having the plane fly inverted and trying to pass a 6' long baton to another contestant in a similar though upright position flying in the other plane. Oh Branson was in the same contraption flying on another plane in pursuit. On next weeks show they are flying to Victoria Falls and going over in a specially built barrell. Wild, wild stuff!

I caught it at about 8:30 and watched the rest of it, I liked it. A lot of neat stuff going on, the best I thought was having tea with Sir Richard ontop of a hot air balloon while it was thousands of feet in the air.
As for the girl that dropped out, I thought she was nasty. They showed her in one scene without makeup and it was gross. She puts a ton of base, or whatever the hell they call it, on her face to cover up all her bumps.

I'll have to watch this program. Hopefully they'll repeat last night's episode. Branson is a really interesting guy. I knew about his risk taking and Virgin, but was unaware about the rail takeover and his buying back the stock to take from publicly held to private. Check out his bio from link provided by Fox.
Oh one thing that I would love to see is the walk across a plank from one ballon to the next at 10,000 feet! They had some safety wires or cables suspended and if you touched it more than once you had to start over. Were these people wearing safety harnesses?

If they touched it twice they had to return to the starting point and they could not move on in the game. The two people then had to meet Branson on top of the balloon from tea. One of the two was sent home, the other was able to continue... if they both made it to the top. Who ever doesn't make it to the top is booted.

Branson is the real wildcard here. He is the real deal. Completely, different, original and fearless. The man knows no limits. It clear from how he runs his business and how he plays (broken records in ballooning and other means of transport) that he is incredibly successful at taking huge risks. He will make this show very entertaining with his spontaneity. Stuff will come out that will be so over the top, bold and completely unexpected. I can't wait.

Missed most of the second episode. Caught only the last 20 minutes. So the barrell over Victoria Falls was suicide. Good learning lesson on how to assess risks. I like Branson. He would make a great teacher.
Can anyone clue me in as towhat I missed?

Looking forward to tonight's episode. Bransom has them singing, but not in the aisles, on stage.

I thought this was the weekest episode yet. How I suckered myself into watching this crap, I have no idea. But it's part of the Tuesday night schedule now.

Letter to the editor from this week's NYT Magazine:
Virgin Territory
Your questions for Richard Branson failed to mention any of his numerous failures, including cola, cellphones and soon, I predict, his excursion into the world of railroads (Deborah Solomon, Nov. 7). After years of trying, he couldn't even circle the globe in his wonderful balloon. Also, I find it hard to believe that anybody in the airline business is, in fact, a billionaire.
Since your feature appeared, Richard Branson's reality show, "Rebel Billionaire," has opened to minuscule ratings, even lower than Mark Cuban's failed attempt at knocking off me and my show. In the meantime, "The Apprentice" continues to bring in top ratings, and I am having fun on all fronts, especially beating my copycat rivals.

That's good stuff.

No question. The first three episodes were good. Last night sucked.

That is really funny. Did Cubans show get yanked.
Next up Gilligan's island. Good for the eye candy only and a bizzare idea.

Is this the same Donald that filed Chapter 11?
Donald had everything handed to him, the first millions were made when he was a kid. Not to mention that his show sucks.

I wonder what happens when he fires the first person that knows his Casinos filed for Bankruptcy. Do they get to mock Trump. Oh the irony would be so sweet.
Trump sucks. It is widely reported that he never puts up his own money. The risk is on the investors. He merely supplies his name which has such value. I've also heard that he doesn't pay his vendors and consultants in a timely fashion and that you can pretty much kiss goodbye receiving your final payment. You got all this free publicity and it was an honor to work for the Donald.
