Bayern Munich 74-76 should be there. Way ahead of 2001 side.

Man Utd '68 and '99 side have as much right to be there as Juve. Who can forget the titanic battles between the two sides in the late 90's?

Barcelona's dream team should also be in with a shout. Juventus 85 and even Nottingham Forest 79 & 80.

I've just noticed this thread. Like I said in the other ones, it would be useful to include some details about the players involved and perhaps the team achievements for the specified years. That would make the vote a lot fairer. ie, I never saw the Inter 64'-65' team, so I will not vote until I research them further. Other people might not bother and just vote for the recent teams.

All teams who apperaed in consecutive finals should be included, provided they won at least once.

A distinction should be made between the 56-59 Real side of Di Stefano, Gento, Kopa (bar 56) & Rial and then the 1960 side of Di Stefano, Puskas, Gento & Del Sol (which merits seperate entry later as it also appeared in the 1962 final).

The multi finalists list is

Real 56-59 (4 wins)
Benfica 1960-62 (2 consecutive wins 1 loss)
Inter 1964-67 (2 consecutive wins 1 loss)
Ajax 71-73 (3 consecutive wins)
Bayern 74-76 (3 consecutive wins)
Liverpool 77-78 (2 consecutive wins)
Forest 79-80 (2 consecutive wins)
Liverpool 84-85 (2 consecutive wins)
Milan 89-90 (2 consecutive wins)
Milan 93-95 (1 win 2 losses)
Ajax 95-96 (1 win 1 loss)
Juventus 96-98 (1 win 2 losses)

Next add Real 2000-02 (2 wins not consecutive) as the only other multi winner.

That leaves 3 teams to make it a round of 16.

Madrid 1960 (backed up by a final in 1962)
Man Utd 1968 (3 European Footballer of the Year winners - next team to claim that Milan in the 90's)

The last place for me is pretty much dependant on personal choice, although I would have it between Juventus 85 and Celtic 67 (all 11 players born within a few miles of the ground)

all teams listed won the Euroepean Cup. The years won are show by the year(s)

As for the names in the teams. I'm to lazy to type all that up as it's not my thread. Suffice to say nearly every team there had an all-timer leading them or a host of very, very good players strewn thru the team

Most of the teams also had players in them that did very, very well in the WC and/or the Ec such as Eusebio's Benfica or Beckenbauer's Bayern side.

Do you know who Giacinto Fachetti is? His Inter team of the mid 60's was a fantastic defensive unit..They also had a few player who had a helping hand in winning Italy the EC in 68.

There are many others. Maybe the thread starter will fill you in.

Madrid 1960 (backed up by a final in 1962)

Real also made the final in 1964, with all-timers di Stéfano, Puskas, Gento, Amancio and Santamaria.

Man Utd 1968 (3 European Footballer of the Year winners - next team to claim that Milan in the 90's)

Bayern`s 1976 side was the next to claim 3 European Footballer of the Year winners (Beckenbauer, Müller, Rummenigge).

Missed that - more of a case to seperate Madrid into two sides from that era.

My mistake - although in my defence I would say Rummingge didn't win the award until 4 years later, for Man Utd Law and Charlton were previous winners and Best won it in 68 on the back of their success.

I think Juve making it to 3 consecutive finals puts them a notch ahead of either ManU squad.

Indeed. It stresses your argument.

Fair point. Dennis Law, however, was not part of the team that beat Benfica 4-1 in extra-time at Wembley that night.

But he was a key part of the team of that time - would you not include Baresi and Costacurta as part of Milan's 1994 triumph even though both missed the final?
