re: players getting tired too easily

phase cross country out of the training regimen right before you hit the first schedule glut of matches - phase weight training out after preseason and add them back in for a couple weeks near midseason (especially if your league has a break)

training: when you look at your first team - its on the left hand side of the screen... click on Training. Then schedules. If you click on the various options - you can change them as needed. Once the season starts - no more sprints or cross-country running....unless you have a long break.

Can you use the editor once you have started a game?

Anybody else find their players get called up for international games during the MLS playoffs. The first time I played in the championship without 6 starters, kinda sucked if you know what i mean.

And how do you keep teams from repeatedly asking to buy your players? It gets old clicking decline 20 times in a row.

I've been having problems signing non-EU players in the game, and my work applications keep getting denied. I always appeal however, and it never works out. Anyone know how an appeal might be successful?

Try clicking one of the options, such as do not want to sell to a rival club. I've gotten about 30 offers (half of them literally no money, no draft picks and no players!) for David Stokes. Sometimes I even get three players offered in return for Stokes. But recently I've been checking the rival or not a team in the same league option and that has reduced the offers.

You also can go into the player's profile and set their transfer status to not available. However, that did nothing to reduce the offers.

I've never had an appeal be successful. I don't even bother any more. I wish I knew the work permit rules. In my current game I've wanted Javier Mascherano for years, but scouts always say he's unlikely to get a work permit, even though he's no longer a young player and he's got tons of caps.

I won an appeal for Freddy Adu on my first attempt at an appeal. Since then I've never won one.

I won an appeal to sign myself (created player....but I could speak like 7 languages).
My scouts returned after I had signed myself to say it was unlikely to get a work permit to sign myself.

An attempt to sign Riquelme was denied initially, too, but the appeal also approved.
It's early days playing this new version of the game for me, however, and the only other player I've signed was Cavenaghi...but there was not work permit issue with him.

I just got the game yesterday. The interface is great, better than CM4. Additionally the speed seems much improved. I'm getting used to all of the controls and navigation.

I started a game as the USA manager. We're in the middle of 2006 qualifying. In three games I have 12 goals and none scored on Friedel.

Love It!

Dan,

Once you get it, your life as you know it is over. I suggest go to the store and stock up on all necessary supplies, eat a hearty meal before playing the first game. You'll need your energy later.

that is what usually happens with me and video games. I'm sure I still have some supplies lying around from when I stocked up for Y2K.

You don't have enough. Go out and get your granola bars, your pringles, cans of Dr Pepper...whatever you need. Get more.

Don't forget to say goodbye to everyone you have any kind of important relationship with.

Bluto I remember you saying you ordered it from gamespot. It took me so damn long to get that game, it was ridiculous... but in the end it was well worth the wait!

That's odd, I had it from them in just a few days.

For anyone who hasn't ordered the game yet, you can go on gamestop.com and search local stores to see if they have it in stock. I did this and was able to find it at two stores in all of Denver.

i got it from amazon.com, but caiman.com supplied it.

The damn thing was "processing" for like 4 days. I should've gone through somewhere else, but oh well it should be here soon. I wish they would've just emailed me the tracking info.
