I stopped by a couple stores this afternoon and they looked at me like I was on crack when I asked for World-Wide Soccer Manager 2005. The stores were part of Hollywood Video and specalized in XBox and Playstation so they didn't sell a lot of PC Games. I'm going to try and pick it up in a store.

My mind is going, Dave. I can feel it. I can feel it.

Just gained promotion to the premiership in my first full season with Nottingham Forest after a season and a half with MK Dons.

The Sega USA site (http://www.sega.com/games/game_temp.php?game=soccermanager) now says December 7th, so I should wait until it is released I suppose.

I'm hooked on this game. It rocks! It's me second season with Man United (in my first season I won the treble!) and I'm sitting comfortably above Chelsea at the top of the Premiership. I've also just been appointed England manager, and been blasted after my first friendly because I let John Terry play over 45 minutes. Damn you, Mourinho.

If anyone's interested you can visit my forum which is basically an online football management sim based around fm2005: http://s4.invisionfree.com/managerworld
(we really need new managers)

Anyway, I've started a game with Barnet (and two national managers- england and scotland) and so far I'm 2nd in the league, but Hereford have run away with it, being 9 points ahead with about 10 games left. Andy Saville (40 year old - on £100 a week) has been a revelation with 23 goals in 42 games and Ian Bishop has also been good, but has had too many injuries. For England I beat Austria away 6-0 with Defoe scoring 4 goals and beat Poland 3-0. I haven't let in a single goal yet and have won every game. With Scotland I beat Slovenia at home 2-0 and drew at home to Norway 2-2, but managed to beat Italy 1-0 away from home after Italy had a player sent off and I got a penalty in the 82nd minute- which Steven Pressley hammered home. I'm top of both my world cup qualifying groups and qualification with both nations is looking very possible, also promotion with Barnet is looking possible too.

I went to the mall today, and checked on it. They were saying it has been delayed until FEBRUARY. No joke.

Wow, really? That sucks. Have you posted something to the sigames website? I'm sure there will be some patches coming out soon.

Oh, you can bet there will be patches. There always are. None yet, however.

I did post the bug there and sent them my save game files. The problem doesn't seem to be exclusive to me, which is nice.

My games crash seemingly exactly one year from the game's original start date. If I start an MLS game, the game with crash Feb 2005. If I play in England, it will crash come June 2005.

Unfortunately, crashing is only part of FM's problems, especially with MLS. Not that one could hardly expect SI to be completely accurate in its extensive research and database, but the degree to which MLS is unrealistic and unplayable is quite disapointing.

But there will be patches.

Always patches.

I heard from Sega USA that Worldwide Soccer Manager 2005 should be in Gamestop next week.

I have a question. I am getting my brother in Holland to get the game for me, he got it but it is all Dutch on the back of the game, he hasn't opened it yet.

So, when installing the game will it have an English option or just Dutch? Anyone know?

Thanks

The game (the old version anyway) can be played in a ton of languages -- you choose when you install it. Living overseas, I bought the Spanish version and the CD automatically recognized my computer was in English and asked if that was the language I wanted.

Stopped by my local Gamestop and they said they will have it around the 21st. The patch for WWSM will be out by then and the one for FM is already out

I have the new version, which I got from a U.S. retailer, but which seems to be the UK-published one. You can set it to a stunning variety of languages. The trick is finding the right button to do it if you can't read the language it boots up in. I can't remember if it automatically recognized my system language, though I think it defaulted to dollars, farenheit temps and the like, so it probably did.
