You're still playing CM right? That strategy doesn't work as well in FM and will be even more difficult with the next patch.

Cannon how's the testing on the new patch going? What is that patch mainly going to fix?

Makes sense. Glad they are fixing that.

When they patch the opposing goalkeepers such that they don't keep hitting me with 8s and 9s, then maybe I'll finally make the FM switch. :)

Still testing. I just started betatesting a little while ago since I was brought on to test a particular bug I found with the earlier patch. A new build came out recently so testing is still underway but no release date is available.

An old fix list for this patch has been floating aound a few sites and many additional fixes have been added. The biggest fix for many people will be correcting the regens system. I can't go into a lot of detail or give you the current fix list because they'll drop my access but they've done a massive amount of work over the last 2 months and cleaned up many (but not all) of the annoying bugs.

There are also some surprises in store for those who have been waiting that I know will go over really well. Trust me it is a very nice patch. I was worried it would just be a set of minor tweaks but I was wrong. Now if the last annoying bugs can get killed...

Okay I've regained some ground at the top. After drawing 0-0 away to WBA, I beat Man U at home with some neat tactical swtichings. Cole and Kezman scoring in the last 10 minutes to win 2-1. I then went to Highbury and went 2-0 up but drew 2-2 thanks to a last minute goal.

Gallas, says he wants to leave. His contract was up at the end of the year, so I hastly accepted a bid by Barca and then swooped Ajax for de Jong. He then settled in straight away, scoring on his debut (a 6-0 thrashing of Crewe in the FA cup.)

Eidur's contract was up, so he accepted to go to Roma. And in turn I have managed to get Totti to sign a pre-contract, so he will join Chelsea in the summer.

And with Smertin's contract up, I have also pre-signed Gianpiero Pinzi from Udinese. Good stats and he should do well at the club.

Things looking good. I've just got to pray United to start to lose. Also drew Werder Bremen in the knockout stages of the CL and Donacaster in the 5th round of the FA Cup. I'm going for the treble this year! :D

Cannon, do you know if they are working on any bugs around setting dates for pre-season training under the options menu? I tried to do that this off-season and the only dates I could set for ending the pre-season training were one year away. I didn't want my guys in pre-season training mode for a year. :)

I finished 11th in the Championship with Forrest this year, but was able to sign nine new players on free transfers worth about 6.5 million euros... its amazing. I like my promotion chances, but it seems like I got off a bit too easy. I think Forrest is still banking on old glories in the game...

They still haven't fixed that, eh?

My English striker from Sampdoria that I signed for 190,000 pounds because his contract was unprotected must be the regen of somebody amazing. Hmmm, let's see, he's 19 years old in 2014, so he started 2010, so the real player retired around 2009. An English forward who is now about 32? Not Shearer, this guy isn't strong enough. Maybe Andy Cole?

At any rate, the point is the AI is a joke. The guy was worth fortunes and they let him go for nothing. He had 13 goals in 17 games for me after I picked him up, in a league where nobody scores for ********. Cherno Samba led the EPL with 16 goals. My guy finished the season tied for 8th in EPL goals, achieved in a whopping 12 league games. :)

Gotta love it when you get a message from the board that says this:
The board are pleased to announce that as a result of an improvement in the club's financial position, they have raised your current transfer budget by $78 million to $126 million for the new season.

ridiculous

Who are you playing with? I had a $60 upgrade at Barca this year. It is very nice.

jeez... you guys are the damn yankees... me i'm at a miserly 37M Euros... although I'm still able to get lots of great players for free like Crespo who is playing in my reserves...

by the way in my file Chelsea are doing insane things... bought Ballack and Xavi right away... signed Rosicky next season and right as the window is about to close they snap up Kaka after selling Lampard...

Liverpool is tactically inept - Gerrard has played at LB and CB in two games against me... the CB was due to an injury and a sending off in a game but still no need to play him at CB... in the game where he played LB they were down and pushed Risse forward to LWF... makes sense huh?

I think its a tactical bug cuz Bridge was playing in front of Duff today when I was beating the tar out of Chelsea.

I'm one of the regular testers that have been testing the game since August and I have to say, the new patch will kick some serious a$$.

Regens, finances, and AI improvements will make the game what we've come to expect from SI (not that it wasn't in the first place - but the next patch will be the icing on the cake).

Yeah, I think you're all the Yankees. In my last game I eventually ended up at a Cocacola club and took them into the playoffs (lost 2-1agg.) and went nuts with joy at my 7m transfer budget the next summer. Of course I never spent it since my wages were already over the limit but it still looked nice.

At one point I thought that Ballack move to Chelsea was hardcoded into the game. In my games under the old FM, either Chelsea or ManU became dominant through numerous high profile transfers and then just became nearly unbeatable winning the league for years and years, getting plenty of trebles and a few quads. Only time that didn't happen was when the EPL wasn't active or I played Arsenal. This seems less common under the patch but I haven't gotten enough time in it to be sure.

I played WWSM for the first time in Weeks. I rekindled my Barca file from the Demo. Crushed Osasuna 6-1. Bought Robson Ponte, Kompany, and Maxi Lopez. Goddamned Game doesn't have Lopez and his Italian Passport.I'm trying to ship off Marquez, as I already have Mascherano. Olequer scored twice. And Larsson leads the team in goals w/ 15.

I am currently 2nd in the English Championship with Nottingham Forrest after 12 games, having won 7 in a row and only conceded 5 goals in the past 8 games.
I just also beat Charlton in the League Cup and Portsmouth 5-1!!!!!

I don't know why this happening. The bookies had me at 25-1, but my squad has just taken off. Tore Andre Flo has 8 goals in 3 games!!!!

I wanted to share all this before my squad goes on a ten game losing streak!!!! :)

Is this the first season? They went crazy in my Wolves games awhile back and end up almost unbeatable from November on. They ended up promoted with by far the best goal difference (best goals for by more than a dozen and second in defense) in the league and went on nice cup runs. Obviously the Coke league researcher needs a good smack to the head because he screwed up the ratings for them pretty bad. Kind of like the Italian researcher who is convinced that Milan's youth team is good enough to win the CL.

In all fairness I completely gutted the roster. The only guys I have kept from the original team are Michael Dawson and Marlon King.

Sorry my point wasn't to denigrate your success but just a rant against silly homer reasearchers. Dawson is godlike in the coke league. I tired to pry him away but couldn't afford him.

I just hope the new patch solves a couple of my quibbles.

* Player facts - I'm pretty sure Jermaine Jones of Leverkusen is half-American. I changed this automatically. There are some other player abnormalities, but its just a small thing that's just tetchy I guess.

* Goalies - I'm sick of a 17 year old goalie, with crap stats, playing like Lev Yashin on speed. Its just not right.

* Regens - wtf? Delete them. My 60 year old physio, looks amazing for his age.

* More realisitc wetaher. This was a massive problem in CM4 and was never fully rectified. In the earlier days of CM01/02, you ahd realistic weather. 8C in Moscow during November is just not on.

I have more probs, but no I can think of just now.

BTW: With Chelsea, I got beat by Bayern on Pens in the CL, but won the title and cup (screwed United twice........ :D )
