How is it possible for the Knicks to shoot 62% from the field against a Kings team without Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic, Cuttino Mobley and Bobby Jackson, lead for most of the game and still lose??

Is it the usual Knick choke job or Arco Arena magic? You decide.

Knick choke job. When you have a 7 point lead with less than a minute left and end up losing, it can only be described as a choke.

Don't look now but there appears to be someone making a run in the Eastern Conference. Who is that freight train coming? Why it's none other than the defending NBA Champion Detroit Pistons. The Heat better not look in the rear view mirror lest they get spooked.

As if on cue, the Pistons go in the tank and get trashed by the Nets. Every time you think they are turning the corner this season, they prove you wrong. This team is suffering from a case of the blahs. They're not willing to expend the energy necessary during this long season to get the top seed. Hopefully, during the playoffs they can "turn on" the intensity every game.

I don't know, I really don't. I can't understand how a team that was 16-13 and go 1-19. Something's gotta up that we don't know about (them tanking the season). Marbury said he's the best point guard in the league and Isiah follows up by saying they're a .500 ball club. There's way too much talent on this team for them to be on any losing streak.

In late breaking news, the otherwise, completely forgettable, Atlantic Division, again has a first place team that does not have a losing record. The Celtics are 24-24 and poised to go on a .500 tear the rest of the season and make the playoffs.

Ouch. Even as a Celts fan, it hurt to write that. So why do I have to be a fan on the one New England team that's pathetic???

At least you're not a Bruins fan.

Looks like we'll find out pretty soon if The Mailman will become officially retired or take one last shot at a championship with the Spurs:

My bet is he signs with the Spurs. I only base this on that he'll only have to play half the season so he doesn't have to uproot his family again, they'll pay him a million or 2 to play and what the hell else does he have to do?

What a mind******** it is watching Vinsanity play. Two great 3 point plays followed by 2 crap shots while his team stands around watching. If I were a bigger Nets fan I'd probably become a coke addict because when you come down from the delusions of grandeur, the razor blade is always handy.

But on a serious note - it looks like they are going to pull out a nice OT win.

Phoenix Suns trade a 2nd round draft pick to the Celtics for Walter McCarty and cash.

Another good pick-up to help their bench along with Jim Jackson.

So, after moving into first, in the subsequent two games the Celtics had three 15-point quarters. Ouch. I guess they were lucky to split the two.

I object.

The Revolution are also pathetic.

Seriously... the Celtics have been playing much better of late, and their running, up-tempo, athleic style is the most entertaining play we've seen in Boston since the 80's... at least when they're clicking.

Very pleased with what Danny Ainge has done over the past two years.

I especially like the line that Allan Houston is a rich man's Dell Curry.:D

That's super funny.

I've been trying my best not to pick on the Knicks, but I have to point this out. 6 of the top 10 have played for NY at one point or another: KVH, Tim Thomas, Mutombo, Sprewell, Hardaway and Houston.

Though the fact that New Jersey is still paying Mutombo $10 million a year is absolutely hilarious.

And completely useless trivia: KVH came from Philly to NY in the trade that sent Sprewell to Minnesota, and KVH left NY in the trade that brought Tim Thomas from Milwaukee.

Seriously, I really don't have much to say about this season, and this one of the subjects that Knick fans have a hard time looking at. Houston at the time was really good player and was an important piece to the team. He proved he deserved the contract by playing well the next couple of years. He even had two 50 point games. The problem here is that he's just been hurt lately and for the first time ever in a Knick jersey (he missed like 8 games before). He didn't have surgery and now he's on the bench, depriving the Knicks of 20 points. Penny is a still player that I think teams should have on the bench. He's been turning over the ball a lot lately in the fourth, but his scoring hasn't been too bad. Tim Thomas acted all tough he's pretty much done with the Knicks. Trevor Ariza, the 19 year old, is starting instead of him. I don't understand how he have all that "potential" and not score. He goes from 20 points one night to a total of 20 points in 10 games. KVH was actually he good player on the Knicks. I'd definately would prefer having him over Thomas...but I think Nazr is a better center than Doleac..at least defensively in some areas.

Superb.

I dont believe Jalen Rose belongs on this list. Yes, he's way overpayed, and yes he cant play D. However, he's still a key contributor, and has won a couple of games for the Raptors almost single-handedly this year. He's the only guy on this list who still plays a key role on his team.

But since he's destined to be a New York Knick pretty soon, maybe his inclusion makes sense after all...

*SIGH* My Raptors in the space of two weeks have turned into the laughing stock once again... they make the Knicks look respectable. And knowing the current GM, we'll probably end up trading Bosh for Van Horn next week

With the trading deadline looming many names are being bandied around.

Here's an article that mentions Latrell Spreewell, Van Horn and the Big Dog Gleen Robinson.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&id=1990993

ESPN's NBA Insider has said that Matt Harpring and Carlos Boozer are on the block.

I wonder if Utah is regretting the Boozer deal yet? Isn't he grossly overpaid?

Whoa, this is like, the first time I've ever read someone who follows a team other then the Knicks predict such a trade.
