Yeah, I don't think the Suns are going to do much in the playoffs, but they are sure fun to watch play aren't they?

Yeah they are. Detroit obliterated them the other day, granted Nash was injured and the Suns were tired from playing so many games on the East Coast.

As for Darko, I think many people realize he's a project and that the future very well might still be bright for him. I'm not willing ot give up yet. He's only 19 - you can't call 19 year olds "busts" in the NBA. If he still sucks when he's 22 then we might have a problem.

Has ever a team come down so profoundly from a high as the Sacramento Kings?

After getting 123 points against Cleveland, the Kings barely scored more than half that in their loss today against the Spurs, who are clearly the team to beat in the NBA.

San Antonio just walked in here and could not miss. Meanwhile, the Kings could not hit any shots, a combination of Spurs D and really really poor shot selection.

I dunno if it's a good thing that the rematch will coming up this Thursday at the SBC Center, but there must be a better effort from Sactown than the slop we saw tonight.

The Bulls will overtake Orlando for sure, putting them in seventh place. If they could somehow find a way to snatch the sixth spot, they would cruise in the first round against the Atlantic Division winner.

The Nets could use any stiff with some height.

Does Larry Brown mismanage young players? Just wondering in light of the Olympics (and the production of the players kept back: Lebron and Flash for example) and the fact that Darko gets so little time.
You have to think that Brown saw something he liked when his USA team played against Arroyo and Puerto Rico. I hope he gets a real shot to run an offense because he could go either way, run-of-the-mill PG or something special. I need to see more of him on the court to make up my mind.

That's what I was thinking. Facing a Atlantic team in the playoffs would be a nice thing.

This had me thinking about which teams would end up in the 4 and 5 slots. As things stand right now (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/standings?season=2005&group=conference&column=playoffs&order=null&seasontype=2), Washington is #4 and Detroit is #5. Cleveland can very easily drop from #2 if Detroit overtakes them (Miami is less likely to drop to 4, but the Wizards are within reach).

No one will tank games to drop down to #6, but no one is looking forward to that first round matchup either. There isn't that much separating these teams and the playoffs are going to be a LOT of fun.

That's probably what the Atlantic division winner is saying about facing an inexperienced Bulls team in the first round also.

Except that no one in the Atlantic has the talent or experience to make the Bulls pay for any playoff inexperience.

Just watch, if the Sixers draw the Bulls in the first round, the Bulls playoff experience this season will last about 4 games.

got to see the replay of my SUNS busting their losing streak at MSG - is it just me or is steve nash a midseason favorite for the MVP award?

He should be, considering they were 31-4 with him and what 0-6 without? Before he went down Legler and Anthony on ESPN were saying the Suns might make a run at the Bulls regular season wins record. Nash is the most valuable player to his team so far this season.

...For his team.

Which raises the usual question, does team MVP = league MVP?

OK, so this can't really last, but congrats to the Wizards on win #26 in game #41. The team managed just 25 wins all of last year.

Eddie Jordan must know what he's doing, because didn't Jamison, Arenas and Hughes all play together in Golden State, and wasn't it a total disaster? Now even with Hughes out, the Wizards are still playing well. Dixon stepped up tonight and even Michael Ruffin played well. Michael. Ruffin.

well if he's more "valuable" to his team than any other player is to their team, what is so strange about suggesting he is league MVP?

Good column by Michael Wilbon in todays Washington Post. I, like most BB fans around here are waiting for the bottom to fall out but this team seems unwilling to crumple. Everybody's stepping up. If Hughes had of gone down last year, seasons's over before the Allstar break. Now you've got players like Juan Dixon and Michael Ruffin stepping it up. Gilbert Arenas is playing out of his mind. He should be considered as a starting G on the Allstar team in a tight threeway with Iverson and Dwayne Wade. If they get rid of Kwame Brown and get someone good in return, they could be real challengers in the East.

I didn't think it is strange, just putting the usual question out there.

If LeBron keeps this triple-double (or close enough to) season, Nash will not win. As of right now, I'd put these guy as the true contenders.

Who else should be on this MVP list at the mid-season grading period?
Duncan, Iverson, James, Nash...

Touching story involving Gilbert Arenas and his newly-adopted son.
As I hear it, the kid lived near by the MCI and lost his entire family in a house fire, sister, mom, grandmom. Gilbert saw this and made a move to support the kid and has adopted him and he has been at the games as a ball boy.

Karma?
I don't know, but I do wish them the best.

The Wiz are fun to watch. I've been to multiple games for the first time in years. It helps too they havent really caught on yet, and you still buy the 10 dollar tickets and move easily to the more expensive seats. Jamison is great too.

There are some absolute gems in Bill Simmons' column today... the Blazers one and the Golden Tee questions are the best
