Well, all the Knicks have to do is win the Atlantic, and really, how hard is that? Right now, Philly, Boston and NY are tied for the division lead and the 18th best record in the league (and the crazy thing is, whoever comes out on top will have the #4 seed in the East).

Now, Boston is in a position to make a trade as the deadline approaches, and I think a coaching change could really fire up the Knicks. At this point, I think the advantage goes to the Celtics - their young talent is showing promise and if they can make a decent deadline deal, they can seal the Atlantic.

I actually like the Sixers in the Atlantic. Iverson is playing well, and the role players are stepping up. The team hasnt even gotten much from Dalembert yet. Boston seems destined for a choke. Didnt Davis miss practice too yesterday, and isnt Pierce unhappy?

And dont count out my Raptors. While I'm biased, if they beat NY on Wednesday and continue to play .650 ball at home they can legitimately win the division. It will depend on what trades they make, but they are a strong team since the Vince virus left. Plus the hard parts of their schedule are over with. They still have three against Charlotte and three against Atlanta, as well as two more against Milwaukee. Bosh is the second best power forward in the east after O'Neal and everyone else is thriving since Carter left. I dont think they will ultimately win but they are better than their record suggests.

I don't man, the Knicks stinked up the place against the Bulls.

They were playing with like seven players the other day. They need to have more healthy players, because an eight player rotation won't get you anywhere, unless you have a playable backup on the bench for a bench player. Crawford, Thomas, Sweetney and Hardaway were all out at the same time. That's a lot of points right there. A coaching change would be nice, but who's out there at the Knicks can get? I doubt Phil Jackson would want to take care of this team now. Maybe after the season, but not right now. I think one of the assistants would do a better job. Lenny doesn't pump this team up enough. JVG used to stand next to the scorers table with his diet Coke and yell at the players all of the time. You don't see Lenny doing that. He calls horrible time outs and doesn't know how to put the right guys on the court. Seriously, who benches Allan Houston with two seconds and change on the clock and you're down by two??

Ughhhhhhh, haven't like Jordan and Bryant both won about 10 NBA rings between them?

Winning a one-v-one battle against great players is fine and all, but me, I'd rather win the whole thing..

And it's debateable whether or not Reggie outplayed those guys..

LOL! :D

I agree with this guy. Saying that Reggie played as well as Jordan is crazy. I might be crazy for comparing Gordon to Reggie Miller. But I'm really hopeful.

Reggie Miller stinks. He's been to one championship and got killed by the Lakers. Even at his Prime, he was no where near MJ or Kobe. Didn't he miss a free throw over the weekend that cost the team the game?

He's Sister is better than him ha ha ha ha

When I say it's Miller time, I meant get them a beer, Reggie Who? ha ha ha get me a beer and sit down Reggie.

Did you watch the 1998 NBA eastern conference finals?

Reggie Miller played as well as Michael Jordan. The series went 7 games....mostly because of Reggie Miller.

Reggie is a clutch just like MJ. His no better player than MJ of course but he did hit around same number game winning shots than MJ.(e.g 8 point in 8 second, that double clutch against NJ in playoff though they lost.)

The fact that this whole thread has evolved into a discussion about a guy who no longer a key part of the Pacers is testament to how clutch, and good, Reggie Miller was in his prime. Anyone remember that game in MSG?

After sleepwalking through a five-game winning streak (lackluster wins against mediocre teams), the Kings stepped up and dropped the hammer on the Lebron & the Cavs tonight on national TV, 123-96. Six in a row going into Sunday's showdown with the Spurs at Arco.

Mike Bibby's first career triple-double came the night after Lebron got his. Team Dime got 17-10-11 and C-Webb dropped 27 on the Cavs on a night all five Kings starters got double figures in points.

C-town's only excuse is the fact that they just flew in from Portland on the second game of a back-to-back. Probably valid as most everyone on their team had a rough shooting night.

Bibby's first Triple-Double was in April of 2000. (playing for Vancouver)

Er, oops. :o

OK, first triple-double in a Kings uniform then. Second career 3-D.

Arroyo to Detroit, Campbell to Utah: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1972052&CMP=OTC-DT9705204233

So Detroit gets backcourt depth, Utah gets an expiring contract and size, Arroyo gets out of Sloan's doghouse and Campbell gets out of the Pistons' frontcourt logjam. Works well for everyone, doesn't it?

Yep. Plus the Jazz get a first round draft pick after 2006 and Darko moves up the ladder.

Utah is most likely going to waive Campbell. The Pistons are hoping he clears waivers so that they can pick him back up. Campbell would be invaluable to the Pistons in the playoffs if they go up against Shaq, where you need guys who can play and have fouls to give.

That Spurs/Suns game was a classic... Should be interesting if they both meet in the Western Conference Finals.

How bout Ginobili going off for 48? I always respected his game, but 48? I didn't think he had that in him, anyone else surprised? Yeah, I know it was the Suns, but still 48?

And Duncan had 30 and 19.

I really don't think the Suns are a threat. The Spurs have to be the favorites to win the NBA title by far. I think the Spurs would beat the Suns 4-1 in a playoff series.

The Nets could use any stiff with some height.

Does Larry Brown mismanage young players? Just wondering in light of the Olympics (and the production of the players kept back: Lebron and Flash for example) and the fact that Darko gets so little time.

Here's a recent column on the Darko situation. Doesn't say much about Brown and young players, generally, though.

http://www.freep.com/sports/rosenberg/rosenberg20e_20050120.htm

MYTH NO. 3: The Pistons have soured on Darko.

After all, he's not playing, so they can't love him that much, right?

In fact, Pistons president Joe Dumars has never wavered on Milicic. Dumars has a whole roster of guys who were dumped by their original teams. He doesn't want to fall into that trap.

But if you think Dumars is clinging to Milicic rather than admit to a mistake, you misread Dumars. Remember, he bailed on two first-round picks -- Mateen Cleaves and Rodney White -- after one year. He fired coach George Irvine after a year. He fired coach Rick Carlisle after he won a division title.

Plenty of teams would love to have Milicic. Eighteen months ago, a lot of people in the NBA thought Milicic was a better NBA prospect than Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade. It wasn't just Dumars.

Dumars could easily improve his team in the short term by trading Milicic. He hasn't even considered it. That's all you need to know.

MYTH NO. 4: Darko has soured on the Pistons.

This one grew legs when Milicic complained about playing time this week. A rumor soon followed that he wants a trade. Forget it.

"This isn't the petulant young player crying and saying, 'Trade me,' " said Milicic's agent, Marc Cornstein. "It's the very opposite. He's saying, 'I love it here. I want to show that I'm ready to contribute.' "

And since Milicic has two more years left on his contract, we can combine Myths 3 and 4 to conclude that he isn't going anywhere.

Yeah, I don't think the Suns are going to do much in the playoffs, but they are sure fun to watch play aren't they?
