I agree they looked awful without Lebron. And yes Kobe has always been selfish- I read the comments he made about Shaq and also about the Mailman. Just my two cents.

Metro Striker, the Knicks played very well tonight. The more I see Nazr Mohammad play, the more I am impressed. As a Knick fan, could you tell me the reasons Lenny Wilkens plays Sweetney in the 4th quarter over Mohammad? It does not make a lot of sense to me. Here is Mohammad tonight with 19 and 9 after three and he barely sees the floor in the 4th quarter. Why is that?
I really don't know. I unfortuantely can't watch the Knicks on a regular basis, but from what I've seen of Sweetney, he's good a player who does have what it takes to play in the fourth quarter. He's a good free throw shooter and does manage to get to the line. He was shooting like 36 free throws in a row. But Nazr has done a great job so far. Tim Thomas is improving, so last year's KVH and Doleac trade may finally be paying off.
Too bad that Shaq is in the East right now. Otherwise him and Okafor could have been the two East centers.
Skip- I don't know...I'd get a few more Knick players because Lenny and Isiah have finally told these guys that they need to play defense...everynight.

We are gonna agree to disagree on this one. Both of these players are great. In terms of Kopbe averaging more points, it might be because he shoots so much. Just a thought. In addition, last night proved my point about LeBron. He went down with a contusion to the face in th second quarter. He did not return and the Cavaliers team looked average. I think Kobe does attract defenders and such, but he is selfish in his shot selection, selfish in his passing and selfish overall.
The main difference I see in these two players is the Kobe is all about himself first and LeBron is all about the team. Deny it all you want, but I am guessing 90% of the basketball world will agree with me on my last point.
One last thing, you are such a homer in everything you say and write on these boards. Learn to be a little objective. It might help give you some credilbility around here.
Ok now let Kobe go play for another team and how will the Lakers do? Lakers would be about 8-19.Kobe shoots more yes.Kobe is the better player because he has been scoring winning Championships for about 6 years. Kobe has been winning games for the Lakers.

Do you feel Kobe would have won those three titles without Shaq? I guess the question I ask those reading this is, which player, Kobe or LeBron will win a championship quicker? I would say LeBron. Scoring points in large amounts does not make a player the best. Kobe had it all with Shaq and Phil, but he wanted to do it on his own. In the game of basketball, you win nothing on your own. Kobe will be a hall of famer and have a great career, but he seems to be regressing in his ideas of teamwork and what it takes to win a title. LeBron is young and already has that correct philosophy of teamwork. I guess only time will tell.

Kobe is a better 1 on 1 player, better at attacking the rim, probably overall a better 3 point shooter too.
Lebron is better at getting others involved. Lebron has great curt vision and is the passer that is over 6'7" since Magic Johnson.
In about 2 years Lebron should be far and away the best player in the game. Right now I'd still take Duncan over anyone.
Detroit needs a win tonight against Miami.

If I had to pick either one right now, as is, I'd pick LeBron. He's younger and has taken the league by storm in just one year. In the same time, Kobe went from a nice guy, to the guy everyone doesn't want to root for.

Kobe would of won at least 1 title.I mean they were getting through the playoffs like they were playing high school teams. You cant win a title on your own and that is why Lebron will have a tough time winning a title.Kobe has Odom and Butler this will help Kobe and the Lakers. The Lakers are a name that is another reason why they can win a title because alot of players will want to go there plus its in LA.

Anyone hear what's up with LeBron? How bad is his eye? Mutumbo's elbows should be registered with the police as lethal weapons, how many players has he taken out with those things?

I'm rapidly becoming a Flash fan - he is just a lot of fun to watch. I only saw a minute of tonights game vs. Detroit and one play was just jaw dropping.

Wade? If so, that one dunk in the 3rd quarter was amazing. I thought he was going for a layup, and instead he dunked it while doing a mini windmill looking thing.

I don't have the source yet but I heard news about Nets trading P.J Brown and Chris Anderson for Scalabrine, 1st round pick(Clippers) , Buford, and Collins.
This trade is enough to make NJ basically a playoff lock in the East if healthy and give them at least an average frontcourt. Kristic and Brown starting with Andersen off the bench.

Yeah - I think that was the one.
Marbury claims he's the best point guard in basketball before leading the Knicks to a loss vs. the Nets - proving how clueless he is about what makes a good point guard.

he also said he was a loser. He also said something like "asking me if I'm the best point guard in the league is like asking me if it's raining when it's raining outside" and then he admitted he was a loser. I'm paraphrasing but it was pretty funny.

Kobe another 40 point game for the Lakers. The biggest problem with the Lakers is that they get a 10 point lead then let a team go on a 8-0 run then get another lead and do the same.

The biggest problem with the Lakers is that they do not play as a TEAM. Kobe can score his 40 and it looks great for fantasy owners and stat sheets, but that will not cut it in the playoffs. The Lakers are gonna need more of a team effort if they want to make and advance in the playoffs.

Now who's fault is that? Lamar Odom and Chucky Atkins, or perhaps Kobe Bryant  Kobe got what he wants, and personally I hope the final playoff spot comes down to a game between the Lakers and the Clippers, and the Clips pull it off. Kobe seriously, even by NBA standards, needs an ego check.

I am with you Coffee. I was pointing that out to my good friend FulhamFC3, who seems to think Kobe is not selfish. If you look back in this thread and read his comments about Kobe and the Lakers, you will see what I mean. I think the Lakers do have some talent, but Kobe refuses to get others involved on a consistent basis. He is playing like Jordan did in his early days where he would score 37 a game and his team would lose and be pissed because he never passed the ball. As someone like me who does not like the Lakers, I love what is going on there.
