From the KC paper, good news whether your MLS team is done for the year or not:

• MORE VIEWERS: ESPN2 reported recently that ratings for its 25 games this season were 18 percent better than a year ago.

Even for the skeptics among us (where's Kenn? :)), this is good news.

After 4 games, ratings were up 73%; after (I believe) 7 games, the gains had dropped to only 40%. At the time, it looked as if the initial interest in Freddy might disappear altogether.

A quick (and not guaranteed correct) calculation suggests that the rest of the season showed a gain of about 9% over 2003. That's not too bad, although it's a shame how many of those televised games were stinkers.

Jamar was a Rev a lot longer than he was with the Fire.

Hell, (speaking of guys mentioned in the "Who was the most disappointing player to ever wear the Fire shirt?" debate), I think John Ball played more matches with the Fire than Damarcus did.

All this is a way of saying "we have a team in the Futsal World Cup?"

I meant to say "Jamar" of course.

Not good news but Mr Amanpour always seemed a little shaky on this to say the least. Not sure a Mexican owner is worse than a shaky owner that would have to sell the team in a few years or watch it fold. Maybe a blessing in disguise.
