What is the general concensus of opinion as the "better Arsenal player"?
Headings to include, "better player", "cult hero", "better goal scorer" and any other headings felt appropriate.
I'll start the ball rolling with "better player" TH14; "cult hero", a tie, "better goal scorer" IW8. There! "Even Stevens". Jeff.

Surely club achievements should be considered?

Ian Wright (Wright, Wright :)) was an excellent Arsenal striker and IMO one of the best English strikers of his generation.

Thierry though is more of a complete player though, since his all round game is superior.

I reckon there are some similarities though. Wrighty and Henry are both quick and both are good finishers. Both had a knack of scoring some outstanding goals too (I remember Wrighty's goal against Everton in 93/94).

Henry's temperament is better though. Wrighty would always get booked and suspended; he had an 'edge' to his game that would result in him getting in trouble. Both strikers are by a long shot the two best in Arsenal's history.

I agree, Henry is a better all round player but Wrighty is a better goal scorer.
To the new fans - don't forget the team that wrighty used to play in is not as good as the current one (not including '97-'98)

Just imagine how lethal this strikeforce would have been

I'm with both of you on that. I'd take Henry as my choice.

That's just what I was thinking when I saw this post if Wrighty had been 10 years younger we probably would have the best strikeforce in the premiership although we do anyway it would be better.

Ian Wright will just pip it for me as I grew up when he was playing so he is my hero and the team he was playing in like someone has laready said was nowhere near as good as it is now so i think Wrighty is just better.
