So he'd leave Inter's bench for Arse's bench?

He's also been linked with Man Utd.

That seems to be the case with any big name player lately. If you're unhappy just link yourself to Arsenal or Man U true or not.

I don't think Lehmann is better than Toldo...

Toldo is far superior to Lehmann.... definite upgrade (especially on crosses)

Toldo would be great at Arsenal, he is the 2nd best keeper in Seire A.

I don't understand Wenger's logic in sourcing out keepers that are nearing the end of their careers. Please correct me if I am wrong, but signing Toldo is akin to a two-year replacement, at the most. So what is the long-term goal? Is Stuart Taylor still being groomed as the future #1? If so, then shouldn't he be given a more central role?

I'm guessing that Wenger is using older keepers as a stop gap until he finds the one he wants longer term and has the funds to buy him. Fact is, there just aren't a large number of premium level keepers around right now. Look at the EPL, where there really isn't a single keeper that is a dominant type keeper. Lots of good ones, but none that are carrying their team or anything. Certainly none that approach what Schmeichel or Seaman used to be. So I think Wenger is just being strategic. Maybe when the new stadium is in place and there are more funds, he'll go after the keeper he wants longer term.

The guys on the Italian board would probably place him behind Buffon, Dida and Pellizoli.

I don't know, but I read last year that AW wasn't convinced with either Taylor or Graham Stack, for whatever reason, despite Bob Wilson giving his blessing, and was the main reason Wilson resigned as GK coach.

But he retired from international duty. He's also no longer first choice at Inter.

I've heard rumours Wenger is looking at Chris Kirkland he's young enough isn't he or what about Robert Greenhe's also being linked with him. Don't get me wrong Toldo is just too old!!!

Toldo isn't bad, he would certainly be upgrade over Lehman right now. He wouldn't be the best choice possible, but an improvement is an improvement. It really didn't help Toldo that his team has a pretty garbage defense. His reputation in general speaks for itself.

Stuart Taylor's days in Arsenal are more or less numbered. Two seasons ago he was IMO a big disappointment. Despite the fact that he already has quite a few starts already, he plays like a greenhorn; uncertain, not confident, and certainly someone you will not feel comfortable having in your goalpost. As for Stack, he doesn't impress me and he is going to work very hard if he wants to be a success.
Kirkland is a good player, but he is injury-prone and I wouldn't want him in Arsenal. I would rather have Robert Green or Van-der Saal as our goalkeeper.
