I'm wondering if there's ever been a program for soccer that resembles the NFL Films presentations, originally narrated by the one and only (and the late) John Facenda.
Those of you who grew up in Europe or South America, but have lived here long enough to have seen NFL Films will understand what I'm talking about. It's the greatest audiovisual presentation of a sport that's ever been done. Thanks in advance.

The best film I've seen that is like an NFL film would be TOR! TOR! Euro 88 when Holland won the championship. This video is the best. We play it all the time in our store. It has music, commentary(one liners to remember for a life time) and more! It is the best.

FIFA puts out an official film for each World Cup (available for purchase via www.soccervideos.com; check the official World Cup Web site as well...FIFA has been adding free video links to this site for classic players, games and a brief film for each World Cup, mostly without commentary).
Regarding the official films I mention above, I have the 1978, 1982 and 1986 videos. '78 isn't very good (most of the video is in slow motion), although you get a bit of a taste for the wild environment in the country at the time. 1982 is a pretty good film, narrated by Sean Connery. 1986 is a great video, although you won't like it if you are not a fan of Maradona (much of the film is (fittingly) a glowing tribute to his performance/dominance during the tournament).

I may have lied about www.soccervideos.com...you might try www.footballhaven.net.

Sony Video has a "History of Football" collection out. Amazon has it for $90.
If you scan the links off the same page, there's related info about other soccer videos.
