Cole grabbed the slice of pizza from a dressing room and intended to throw it at Ruud van Nistelrooy, only to hit Sir Alex instead.

"The Arsenal players thought it was hilarious. They were splitting their sides in the dressing room," a 'witness' said.

"In the eight years I am here I have lost against some great Man United sides and I just said: 'Listen, they are a fantastic football side.' On Sunday I cannot say that, it's as simple as that."

geez
give yourselves a pat on the back
great work :) :)

The Sun names them as the ones

If players get named then the FA will be forced to act. That's probably why Sir Alex hasn't responded. Whilst Wenger is still stiring up trouble, Sir Alex has shown some tact by taking a back seat and allowing everything to sort itself out. I applaud him.

If you want. Although I don't see anything wrong with the post at all.

I just assumed, seeing as that is what the vast majority of your fellow Arsenal fans give me, regardless of what I post.

Good lord, do you have any brains? You don't think the so-called "shown some tact by taking a back seat" has anything to do with the fact that they took 3 points from the game? If the game had ended in a draw, he'd be the first to flap his gums at every opportunity.

i gotta agree... BUT i do think wenger should tone it down... i mean, i agree with what he's saying but what's the point when he's just gonna end up being fined..?? we really don't need to keep focusing on this stupid game. i want the gunners to get back to what they do best - playing beautiful football.

oh, and it's really disappointing that cesc was involved b'coz he's so young and he didn't even play in the game the other day... i really hope they don't get charged even though i know they deserve it... :(

I doubt there will be any charges b/c they will ahve to get witnesses to testify. I doubt anyone will.

Also, I agree that Wenger and everyone needs to move on. There is a match tonight and another this weekend. Chelsea are only two points behind. Arsenal needs to concentrate on maintaining their lead on the table and not a game that is already played and gone.

I read that article as Fabregas not being involved at all, but rather a different paper was wrong in mentioning him. It seems that article said it was Cole who did the offence.
So unless I read it wrong, I wouldn't be too worried about Fabregas being young and immature or anything.
Although I am sure it felt great to throw the pizza at SAF, I can admit at the heat of the moment, I was feeling the need to at Mike Riley, I am a little disappointed with the way we are acting after this. We were screwed, but all the pizza throwing and media talk won't make the FA reverse the decision. I wish we would have taken the high road, so everyone was just amazed that even after such injustice we keep our composure.

Straight from the horses mouth (no not Van Diver).

This (allegedly) is what really happened. Might explain why Man Utd are keeping
amazingly quiet about the whole thing:

Reliable source, Fabregas threw the food. RVN went into Arsenal
dressing
room after the game going mad winding up Arsenal players after last
year.
Wenger called him a F****** Cheat and told him to get out.

RVN went for Wenger, Edu stepped in and hit him, security guards piled
in
going mad. The kitman was hit by the guards and got a broken nose. He
wants
to pursue assault charge but Arsenal don't want him to.

Ferguson then came in and started as well, ranting at the Arsenal
players.
They told him to f*** off, he grabbed Fabregas who responded in kind.
Man U
dont want any comebacks as RVN started it and their stewards were out of
order.

Ferguson also knows he should not have gone in to the Arsenal changing
room.

If Man U complain the kitman will pursue his claim. The police know what
happened. Difficult one for the FA.

"RVN went for Wenger"..... Bollocks.

Like he didn't go for Ashley Cole I suppose !Come on, "RVN went into the Arsenal dressing room to wind your players up"...

That would be like Solskjaer running into the Bayern changing room and singing "Who put the ball in the German's net?" :D

Why would the players have pizza in the dressing room after a game?
I thought Wenger was strict about player diets (I remember FL8 talking about how strict Wenger is)

I was upset when we lost on Sunday, but all these behind the scenes antics are making me forget about the match quickly. Seriously, food fights? Locker room brawls? All we need are some steel chairs to the back of the head and we got the WWF.

In "The Independant" newspaper
it says there are 4 different suspects
it also lists other premiership managers who have thrown food at others
funny article

Identity parade

Who's the chucker?

Gabriel Heinze

Though the victim was his own manager, the Manchester United defender is an obvious suspect, clearly capable of creating 57 varieties of mayhem. If, as some reports contend, the offending comestibles included a slice of pizza then the Argentinian international, who holds an Italian passport thanks to his mother, is squarely in the frame for that as well.

Sol Campbell

If the foodstuff was not hurled by Heinze, then the culprit must have been his Arsenal counterpart. Never actually immortalised in person by Andy Warhol, the England centre-back has enjoyed more than 15 minutes of fame. If challenged in the tunnel he would not have backed down: no one can call Campbell chicken.

Gary Neville

As he could start a fracas in an empty tunnel, the England squad's unofficial shop steward is a prime suspect simply because he was in the vicinity at the time of the incident.

Jens Lehmann

The German goalkeeper's name was the one most mentioned yesterday in dispatches. Such is his propensity for dropping the ball, however, questions must be asked: could he have held on to the cup for long enough to throw it? Or was he passing it to Ferguson for a sip, but flapped at the crucial moment? Perhaps the whole thing was just one big misunderstanding...
