Well tonight marks the beginning of a new season of Survivor. 8 pm EDT.
The location is Thailand. Here's a link

Mod's Note...I added an (R) to stave off possible ridiculous complaints that someone's night was ruined.

Youth wins out over middle age. A recurring theme in Survivor. I agree with your premise. I wonder what survivor is going to do differently? It was noted on the previews.

I thought I saw that they seperate the men from the women right from the beginning. Should we put an [R] in the title?

Probably -- for the benefit of West Coast posters.

My God! it's just a damn TV show. Plus no one has given anything away.
The first broadcast will be repeated Saturday at 9pm EDT.
If I'm awake at 12 am I'll post back my thoughts on the first show.

Interesting first program. Nice idea having the two oldest people choose the tribe members. Thought the older guys tribe, "Chewing gum" looked to have the better more physically fit players. The water versus shelter option clearly favors the shelter people. Unless a major storm comes with high seas. They only have to paddle a mile in the canoe to get water. The abundance of food was obvious in the immunity challenge for the "non chewing gum" tribe. They surprised me with how well they paddled. Again, the other tribe not having eaten for three days helped. Really if it wasn't for Ghandia's poor effort at the Thai puzzle, they would have won the immunity challenge. I thought they would vote her off, but understood, as with Survivor 4, that who you like, makes a big difference at the tribal council.
"Chewing gum" needs to learn to cooperate, get along, complete their shelter and eat or they are in trouble. The one guy ragging on the asian girl is a jerk. He reminds me of Rob and Sean from the last Survivor.

Yeah, I was hoping that they would show the young losers up. Chewing gum is the older tribe. Sook Jai is the young tribe in purple who don't have their acts together.
Nice fake rack on somenone. I think it was Erin. Surprised by their choice of John. He was the only one who could read a map. I thought the sick chick was gone.
Skater boy is very pretty, but he's got absolutely nothing upstairs. I hope that effects of lack of food on the younger tribe shows up quickly and takes a huge toll. The only ones with brains on that (sook jai) tribe are Shii Ann, the leader and the dental student.

Well Mr. Know it all, if you followed a lot of the previous shows you would see that many of the early votes went against the older contestants.
Also recall that many votes were split along lines of age. Infact there was the one Survivior where they had to blend the two tribes because of the age barrier.
Rich, Tina and Vecepia were not the oldest members when the game started.

Actually didn't he remind you of Rob from Boston, from the last Survivor. What an obnoxious jerk.

I can't imagine that he won't be the first one voted off when his tribe loses an immunity challenge. "Look at my hands." What an ass.

A new episode this evening. Anyone have any ideas which tribe might win the immunity challenge? Knowing who might get voted off is a total crap shoot at this point. Maybe someone would like to speculate. The girl who was dehydrated?

I might tune in at some point. Don't have any real interest in the show, but Helen certified me for my Navy swim quals and it would be pretty cool to see her on the show.

It was touch and go for Helen last night, but in the end Tanya Vance was voted off. She was the girl that was dehydrated and was throwing-up.
How much did Helen's anniversary influence the vote?
Was Helen really that annoying or is Ghandia the one with the problem?
Chewing Gum lost both the reward and the immunity challenges to Soup Jive.
Looks to me like Jed and Stephanie are going to alienate themsleves from the rest of the Soup Jive tribe.
Even without shelter and not much food, Soup Jive's youth is cleaning up. I don't see the pattern reversing itself.
