I dont know how happy Sven Goran Eriksson would be about him playing in France. Not too happy I'd imagine. I dont see how they can convince him to come. Houllier is the only thing that could convice him. I'm sure Owen's agent is telling him to hold out for a firm from an English team.
Dude, stop with all this negativity. WTF?

"Liverpool received £8m and Antonio Nunez for Owen when they sold him last summer and Real are believed to want £10m for the hitman.
But, with Benitez after a right midfielder and centre-back, a loan deal has been mooted, despite Real not being too keen on the idea.
It may, however, be their main option if Manchester United do not make a firm bid for Owen."
This whole loan deal to Liverpool looks shakey. Im sure Lyon can pay the 10 million pounds that Real Madrid wants and if they dont want to loan him to Liverpool, I think Lyon are still in the race. Man U probably arent going to make a move so then what is Owen gonna do...just sit on his ass?
Just come to Lyon Mikey. Good food, good women, and lots and lots of goals for you my friend.

Cisse has to want to come to Lyon for a deal to happen and I havent seen any signs yet that he would. All it says is that if Owen goes to Liverpool that Cisse is expendable. I think Morientes would be easier for Lyon to get.

i see nothing to preclude cissé's coming to lyon. he is french after all, and OL would be the best showcase for him as concerns the NT. he is a good friend of wiltord and i believe, of govou. in any case he knows lots of OL players from the NT.
money? at the moment OL probably has the most bulging coffers in football.
nevertheless, houllier stated yesterday, in an interview remarkably anaxyloglotte, that the rumors concerning cissé are false.
morientes? i would love that, but the closest morientes is coming to france is le rocher. that's crystal clear.

Go check out the Liverpool forum. They think its laughable that they would sign Owen and then dump Cisse. I agree with them. I read that Frau is going to Lens and Nilmar to Brazil. If that happens then they need to sign 2 attackers plus a midfielder.

They aren't going to dump Cisse. They are going to dump Baros.
Morientes, Crouch, Owen and Cisse would be their 4 main strikers.
I think he will go to Manchester United however (on loan.)

Not so fast.....
Anyways, Cisse isn't all that he's cracked up to be. Another Auxurre striker that can't hack it at big clubs anyways... Anybody remember Stephane Guivarc'h?

I'm going to the Lyon game in Auxerre on Sunday, and wondered (besides Tiago, who just signed and I guess may play) whether there are any other surprises I can look forward to?

Call me crazy, but I find all 4 of those guys stopable, especially Cisse and Niall Quinn, um I mean, Peter Crouch.

please note tiago hasn't signed (yet?)
the big questions i ask myself are 4-2-4? 4-3-3? wiltord? govou?

the club has 3 quality arrivals so far for 1 (admittedly big) departure, and i'm still confident lacombe will get reinforcements both this month and in the winter mercado. houllier is a big question mark.
all in all the team is better on paper than last year's, and last year's team on the field could certainly have taken bigears home. compared to the OL i saw all year, liverpool, chelsea and milan AC showed me nothing in the final four that OL couldn't have handled.

maybe Lyon will enable him to "break out" similar to Carew after his arrival. He hasnt played alot at Chelsea but Morinho seems to have a good amount of respect for him.
