Essien goes to Chelsea, Govou goes to Liverpool, and Diarra goes to Arsenal. If that all happens then this team is seriously f****d. They dont wanna sell these guys but these damn EPL teams show interest in them and these ungratefull players wanna jump ship.

too much ego in football these days.

If this happens, I'm gonna puke. But it won't, so I won't have to puke.

the way i see it if they're not motivated and dont want to play as a TEAM then get rid of them. Im starting to like Carew already, he's thrilled to be at Lyon and he's already score a brace for them.

Lyon has moved to the final of the Peace Cup after a 1-1 draw with PSV. Robert opened the scoring for the dutch side in the 38th minute. Florent Malouda equalized in the 48th minute after a nice pass my Reveilliere.

He's wanted out for a while now. Liverpool is the latest team to show some interest.

Didn't Diarra extend his contract (by one year)
till 2008 recently? I haven't kept up much with the
news these past 2/3 weeks but I thought that's
was the story with him.

In any case,I honestly believe Essien will be the only
one leaving, and that'll be a good thing too since
he's announced publicly that's what he wants.
No sense keeping an unhappy player, plenty of
sense in making money on him now. Aulas isn't
stupid and Essien's own teamates seem to agree:
time to sell him
http://www.football365.fr/depeches/story_179171.shtml

He'll be gone within a week, my bet.

Diarra did extend his contract but if a team like Arsenal show that they really want him you know he's gonna wanna jump ship and join them. He'll do the same thing that Essien did. Cry and complain about how he doesnt want to stay and be unhappy.

i hate when players do that it just makes them seem like babies, i mean they are the EMPLOYEES of the team and when you are on a contract you should have to honour it or face severe penalties like the rest of the working world

I honestly think he'll wind up staying at Lyon, at least until the winter. We have all the midfield players we need as far as I'm concerned, and his value will drop dramatically as soon as this transfer window closes.

Lyon dropped the Peace Cup final to Tottenham, 3-1 final score, Ben Arfa had Lyon's goal off of a penalty.

Lyon are interested in Olivier Dacourt of Roma now. Ben Afra will have a huge year if he ever gets a decent amount of playing time.

Essien Pleas With Abramovich
7/24/2005 3:38:00 PM
Lyon midfielder Michael Essien has pleaded with Roman Abramovich to get his wallet out and bring him to Chelsea.

The French champions are refusing to let the Ghanian international leave for less then their valuation, which according to the 22-year-old is now £35m.

Chelsea have previously had offers of around £18m rejected.

Essien told the News of the World: "I have the feeling Lyon will not sell for anything less than £35m.

"My last hope is Abramovich. It is he who has to make the decision. I hope he will meet their demands.

"I cannot see myself staying at Lyon - no way.

"I don’t even want to think about it. It is now in the hands of Abramovich."

hehehe forget booing i say they pull a "roma fans" and chuck flares at whomever pisses them off lol just kidding roma fans are great and doing that will probably get the fans banned but it would be some decent retribution selling him for 35 mil is a mistake chelsea can afford more i mean they offered 60mil for sheva
