Just received this in my email.

I regret that I will not be able to attend the soccer match between DC United and the MetroStars this coming week-end. However, I would appreciate knowing if there is some gathering place where some fans may be watching the game on television. I would try to attend that. I will see everyone at RFK for the second game when we try to advance to the Conference Finals.

Seriously, Barras (and others) --

for those of us who can't go to the swamp but still want to see the game, drown our sorrows and cheer on DCU, is there any place a significant group of people are gathering?

Kilroy's is Chico's house -- without him I don't know if anyone will be there. Summers is, well, Summers

Is there a critical mass going anywhere? If I can't be in Joisey I want to be with a chanting group of thugs somewhere.

Thanks, DM

I spoke with Steve the bartender who will be working saturday night and asked if he'd put the game on. He said he'd be happy to for anyone that showed. Just keep in mind that...

A. This is a huge Virginia Tech Bar and if they're playing at 7:30 or thereabouts, the placed will be JAMMED and trying to find someone to switch a channel could get hard. (check ahead for Tech's schedule)

B. If the World Series is on it probably won't be as packed unless that and the Tech game are running concurrently.

C. They really are friendly folks and have treated us incredibly well this past season. Even though just about every Barra member that goes to Kilroy's will be at the game, I would call ahead (no later than 5-5:30) and see what their plans are and if they'll put the game on for you. I'm sure they will. Tim and Steve should be bartending tomorrow, and Tim's gone to a few DCU games with us. Get there early, grab a seat at the corner order some food and don't forget to tip those guys well.

Tell 'em Chico sent Ya :)
