I mentioned painting on my car windows and using my car as a mobile banner to Kim at the awards banquet.
We are trying to get as many people as possible to be involved in a "Blackout Beltway Convoy" (possibly on the 30th and drive around different areas and try to get people to follow us to RFK for the 2nd leg).
Someone is getting DCU car flags for us to use on our cars and will be bringing them to the blowout on Thursday. We need to let him know how many we need him to bring.
Please post here if you would like to join us.
Comments and suggestions welcome.

Is clogging up traffic in one of the most-congested cities in the country really a good way to spread the word about the team? Sounds like a way to piss a lot of people off.

Yes it is! We should be able to finalize the plans between tomorrow night and the match on Saturday.

I probably won't be able to do anything in the group - unless you want to start it in Leesburg. And you guys can get off on the beltway and I'll head in and set up the tailgate...... :D
But rest assured, I will put extra stuff on my car (window paint, flags, etc) on my way in so maybe someone will follow me from the Greenway ;)
Just remember the convoy has to go over 65mph the whole time or you will get run over (and rightly so)

It shouldn't be that much of a problem if we split into smaller groups and drive through different areas. Most who participate would probably be driving to the stadium anyway.

Way to get on board, babe!
But seriously, the plan is not to stop traffic but meet up at some designated areas and head to the stadium together with painted cars (or with flags, streamers, balloons, etc., horns beeping) Routes should include some non highway and highway driving.

Gotcha. The original post made it seem like people were going to create a jam on major roads.

I'd like to start a LN convoy on 395, but I'm usually the first one there. Most of the others leave it late in getting to RFK. :(

Damn, I'd like to help out but seeing how I switched saturdays so I can go to the Swamp I don't know what time I'll be heading down to RFK. Game time's 7:00 pm, right?
