Figured I'd get this started, so I could get some questions in!
I have a winnable matchup against Firebears, a team that I have edged in every category except midfield.
My question is, what are the benefits of staying in the Cup? I realize there is the financial benefit from crowds, but what else?
Also, is there a master tree somewhere? Any way to find out who'll I'll face if I win? I'm planning my stadium expansion, and it will help to know if I'll be hosting the next cup game (assuming I win). So far, both Cup matches have been away...does seeding determine this or is it random?

the major benefit is the money, both from the game and the chance to increase your supporters also. The cup games add to your players experience also, and if you've advanced to the point where you have little chance in the Cup....you can use it to PIC and get an TS boost for your next league match.
I dont believe there is a master tree that shows who you would play next...the lower ranked team will always get the home game.

For me I need the cup b/c I am in a potentially hopeless series, I am trying to get the revenue up front b/c it could be downhill for the next few weeks. Unfortunately I am playing another Big Soccer member (FC Puddleduck).

I am favored in the second round for the first time. I should win and make it to a home game. I'm planning on getting to the 4th round.
I have a couple players I want to get as much experience as possible since they have passable leadership and the cup is the best way to get it.

After looking at some of my opponent's past games, I may actually have a shot at winning this game, though it will be dicy. I will still PIC just in case, but I would love to make it into at least the 3rd round.

No Friendlies, (each week)
Money, (1/3 for away games, 2/3 if you host)
Team Spirit, (can PIC the easy games)
Experience, (every so often a player will bump in exp. You get the biggest boost from a cup match)
Go as far as you can, then PIC your final match.
For me, this second cup match is key. I MOTSd my first match against the #1 and I need this bot matchup to recover in time for my league matchup.
Friendlies don't affect your spirit. The cup gives you an added advantage against your series opponents if they are not in it. I could normal my league matches and PIC my cup matches where as my non-cup participating opponent is relatively hamstrung.

My question is, what are the benefits of staying in the Cup? I realize there is the financial benefit from crowds, but what else? Also experience for your players, cup matches give double the amount of experience of league matches.
Also, is there a master tree somewhere? Any way to find out who'll I'll face if I win?No, it's not bracketed, teams get reseeded after each round. If you pull a big upset, it may be possible to predict that you'll get a really good team e.g. in ML or II.
I'm planning my stadium expansion, and it will help to know if I'll be hosting the next cup game (assuming I win). So far, both Cup matches have been away...does seeding determine this or is it random?Cup matches are always hosted by the lower seed (except at the very end when it goes to a neutral site match), so this you can estimate with some degree of accuracy. Look up HT Cup Rank in the CHPP apps. It will tell you your overall seed, so that you can figure out when you're likely to switch over from the away side to the home side of the bracket.

I may actually be going out of the cup this round. :( The team I play only has 19 players and will therefore be playing mostly starters against me this Wednesday, he's a striker trainer and gets decent striker ratings, inad-passable. I'm thinking of playing some more starters then I usually do, cause I want some more experience for them, plus I want the home cup match next week.

Come on, you've got to beat them. And beat them up too. I host them in leageu play this weekend. I want their confidence crushed, their players abused and disciplined, their sponsors irritated and leaving. (I don't think his starting wingback is available due to red card)
Then, after you beat them, I can finish them off!

You are correct, his starting wingback got redcarded, still though, he pulled 28.5 stars without him, and I would expect with only19 players on his team that he would start most of them in the friendly, I have made some changes to my schedule to compesate for this, and while I have a bad feeling about this week, I think I may be able to pull out the win.

I expect two things:
1. Lose
2. Make alot of money through the gate.

I'm playing against a better team, but I'm able to play a lot of starters in my cup match this week. Was able to play mostly scrubs in my league match against a brand new team.
Should be a close match.

The team you beat me with in the BS Cup pulled 25.5 stars. That's just two players or so away from beating him on stars. You should be fine.
I have a home cup match allready but I think it's just because I came up from D6. The team I am playing isn't that impressive but they won't be a breeze. I am probably going to normal it because my TS is pretty good and it's a home match. I'm a little worried about the form of my strikers, so we'll see how it goes.
I may PIC this match too.

I've got a surprisingly tough second round game, last season I played a terrible side in the first 2 rounds. This time a team that was just demoted from D5, they've been a defender trainer for a long time..
Not much quality in midfield and attack tho, going at him with my three strikers including 2 formidables, just hoping to get a goal or two and hold Ferumberas FC scoreless.

I play an active D.VI team, tonight.
Their first cup match, on the road in a 4-3 victory:
Jax17
Player rating and Team formation
Team Attitude: (Hidden)
Tactic: Normal
Tactic skill: (no tactic)
Midfield: poor (old)
Right Side Defence: weak (old)
Central Defence: inadequate (old)
Left Side Defence: weak (old)
Right Side Attack: solid (old)
Central Attack: formidable (old)
Left Side Attack: passable (old)
My first cup match, with a lineup similar to what I'll trot out tonight (again PIC'ing):
Averill Park Mercury
Player rating and Team formation
Team Attitude: Play it Cool
Tactic: Normal
Tactic skill: (no tactic)
Midfield: weak (old)
Right Side Defence: magnificent (old)
Central Defence: outstanding (old)
Left Side Defence: passable (old)
Right Side Attack: outstanding (old)
Central Attack: world class (old)
Left Side Attack: solid (old)
That is an NSI difference of 70-44, so hopefully APM will pick up an easy victory.

yeah, I guess I stand a very good chance, plus I've added another player that I want to get experience before I sell him so that will help me out, I still think I will have trouble with the team, but I'm feeling a little better about it.

I got a fairly easy 2-0 away win despite being up against a strong defence. In round 3 I have a very tricky home match against The Underdogs, who knocked out a team in my friendly league this round - yet another HT coincidence!

Yeah, upgraded my defense my team is getting better already! Now I hope the cup game brings me enough revenue to cover the purchase.
