I'm pretty sure a lot of people here agree with me: PERU NEEDS TO GET OUT OF LIMA!!! This can't be any more true. The players even admit it. I've heard Pizarro and Palacios say that the pressure in Lima is not good for the team. As the game progresses, the pressure increases, they start making errors while trying to score. This has been proven throughout the qualifiers in the 90's. The lack of success has gotten to the people and the people are responding with pressure and demand. So I ask myself, What the fuk are we waiting for to get out of Lima?! The players know it, the press knows it, Autuori knows it. In this qualifiers at home, Peru has already lost to Colombia, tied Venezuela, tied Brazil and lost to Argentina. Peru needs a new environment quickly. I would go to the north of the country.

I just hope the press stops talking BS ... this way the fans are not against the team.
Lima can still be hosting city ... provided the team gets the support it has got normally. The pressure in Lima, against the visitors, can't be compared in other cities.
Apparently the game against CHile will be at the Monumental once again.

If after yesterday ... the press rallies behind the team as they have done in past years ... then the Monumental will be full.
If they keep on with the BS ... there is no way we'll see more people than against Argentina.

cuzco seems to be a pretty good choice, dont you think? but of course that will mean that we have to prepared all the players to play in high places above sea level. what other choices we got? AREQUIPA, trujillo, tacna?

the majority of the team either comes from lima or from el extranjero
it wouldnt work out
i dont think
arequipa could be an option since its not a high as cuzco
maybe trujillo up north
btw
i like that peru vs chile is being played at the nacional

Even if the press stops talking BS, the problem is still gonna be there. The people in Lima are tired of frustration after frustration.

People say that the monumental is bad luck and every time they play there, they lose. Why is that? Because Peru takes the good teams over there!!! How is Peru gonna win in the Monumental if they keep playing with Brazil and Argentina? They have to play all of the games there, otherwise it's always gonna be bad luck. This is the Federation's fault of course. They take advantage of the capacity of the monumental and so they take good teams that will attract a lot of people($Money$) But they won't take venezuela or uruguay because the rent of the stadium is a lot of money and they won't get it $ back with the crowd that would go to those games. Weird how it's always the federation's fault making bad decisions. Everyone should resign from that circus.

It's not much about the altitude and getting an advantage on the other teams. It's about changing the attitude of the people that go to the stadium. The north is the perfect place for Peru. Either Trujillo, Chiclayo or Piura. You saw how Peru's attitude changed when they played the Copa America outside of Lima? Peru suffered against Bolivia and Venezuela in Lima. It was an even match against Colombia. And against Argentina, Peru controlled the ball better, but we fell short. The players said that they treated them wonderful in the north. That's because the people outside of Lima barely see Peru play live in a stadium. They only see them through the tv. They'll sell out the stadium in a second. They still have love for their team. AuTERCO decided to train in Trujillo for the qualifier against Argentina because it was a friendly and a better environment for the team. That right there says it all. They know it. Everyone knows it. But here is where the federation's black hand comes in again. The federation won't do it because the stadiums up north have a less capacity than the nacional and they think they won't get money on attendance. Obviously money is more important to the federation than what's best for the team. It's a sad situation and someone needs to change that. If they don't want to do that, then do like Brazil does in the qualifiers. Play around the country. We got good stadiums now thanx to the Copa America. Play in a lot of cities and feel the support of the fans. And at the same time it would serve as an experiment to see what part of the country fits Peru the best. The match against Chile HAS TO BE in the nacional. There's something about playing in the nacional against Chile, they can't beat us there!!! :D That's the only team I can see Peru playing every time in the Nacional. Ever since that trashing of 6 goals, it has been a lucky charm agains chile. :D

This also means that Peru can't play away from Lima for any of the current qualifiers.

Says who? Any team can play anywhere in their country as long as the stadiums are qualified and have all the requirements Conmebol demands. Where did you hear that nonsense???

Good point, we should play somewhere else, not just because of the bad luck, but just for the other people to get to see their national team. Perhaps they will provide more support for them then the Lime~nos. Like for example, the U.S. plays their games throughout the U.S., like in Washington D.C., Columbus, Ohio, etc.

Of course we should. More oxygen to the team. Lima is not working for the team and I don't think it will for a while.

CONMEBOL had the same rule for eliminatorias 2002 cuales son las dimensiones y capacidad del estadio?
sounds like copa america wa more strick than qualifiers
and copa libertadores is even more demanding on the capacity of each venue!
