a question for any london-based posters.

i'm going to be in london for the spurs/charlton match on saturday, november 6th. looking at the various fixture lists for the weekend, i noticed that millwall would be hosting sunderland on friday evening. i am, of course, familiar with millwall's reputation, though such things often tend to be caricatures. and i know nothing of the club's neighborhood.

i hadn't given it too much thought until i was at millwall's website, and i read something along the lines of "away supporters are encouraged to attend only with official coaches", or something to that effect. now, i'm no sunderland supporter; but this little disclaimer gives one pause for thought. apparently it's a bit of a walk to the nearest underground station, and i wouldn't be leaving the den until around 10:00pm.

the question, as you've likely already guessed, is: would it be unwise for a lone neutral to consider attending this match? this is not the kind of thing that i'm normally inclined to even consider, and i feel a bit silly for asking. but, then, i'd feel even sillier walking around london with my a$$ well-kicked, my wallet well-stolen, or both.

thanks for any input.

Mate, you should be fine. If you don't look for trouble, the chances are you won't get it. Try and get a ticket in the home ends if possible. There are some nutters around, but just stay out of their way.

Enjoy the game!! White Hart Lane is quite a nice ground for atmosphere.....
