The former United back is named the A-League's Defender of the Year.

While I don't miss him here or particularly want to see him back in a DCU uni, I certainly wish him the best and am happy to see him doing well.

A hearty "Well done" to the second best Canadian to ever play for DC United.

I never hear about Mark Watson without thinking of an orange traffic cone with twigs stuck in the top of it for arms.
Alternatively, someone says "Mark Watson" and I immediately raise my own arms in the air. It's almost pavlovian.

I think DC could use more players of Watson's size. That way all of the jerseys wouldn't be size medium.
(I did buy a practice warm-up of his at the recent equipment sale because it was the one that fit me.)
Way to go Mark. It's nice to see our alumni winning awards.

Well, as long as they're not MLS awards.

Like Douda Kante? :)
Seriously though, in Championship Manager, Watson becomes a stud defender... usually has higher ratings than Pope...
Just thought I'd throw that in cause we all now Champ Man mirrors reality...

Uh oh. You better watch out the next time you're playing a pickup game, Geoff Aunger has your ankles in his sights.
;)
Geoff Aunger is by far the best Canadian to play for United -- and one of my all-time favorite players regardless of nationality.

That is why I said that Watson is the second best Canuck.
Aunger rules.
BTW: I'll be wearing my Aunger jersey tonite!
The Unofficial ranking Canadian DC United players:
Geoff Aunger
Mark Watson

Sorry.
I'm an idiot. I didn't see "second" in your post.

That's OK.
But it's always a good idea to keep an eye out for Aunger.....just in case he's looking to break your ankles.
You can never be too safe.......
