Pheww that was close! Gol mohamadi almost cost us the world cup with his own goal like he did the asian cup with that penalty. But we came back and won, from here on it's 2 easy we are already in the world cup :cool:

They almost broke our hearts, but our players never gave up. Strange to see Qatar almost stopped playing after they went up 2-1. Even though Qatar still needed another goal to have any hopes of moving on they slowed down and Arash Borhani and Vahid Hashemian saved their national side.

In all seriousness though, are you guys worried that Jordan and Qatar might conspire to eliminate Iran by letting Jordan win by a large margin and possibly advance based on goal differential, or do Jordan and Qatar hate each other?

Good news is that Jordan can beat Qatar 100-0 and we would still advance since in case of a points tie, they first look at the home and away result of the head-to-head matches of the teams with the same number of points and then the goal difference. In which case, Iran beats Jordan 2-1.

You won't face Japan ( Both Korea and Japan are the top seeds ) but you will face either Iran or Saudi Arabia.

Actually according to the seeds, (if other posters can be trusted that is :p ) Korea and Japan won't be in the same group for sure. So if I had to make an educated guess, I'd say that Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Iran qualify for WC'06.

I actually believe that Iran is in great form, despite our mistakes. These games wont be on till next year by which time we would have played more, fixed the defense, have Navidkia back, and Daie will be ready too, to help Hashemian (I love you dawg), Yahya will be gone and the team will be better all together. :)
