Today, I watched Italy(Blue) vs Bulgaria(White)in Euro 2004 again.
I found one senario about offside.
In white's side, near the goalline and outside the penalty box, one blue attacker and one white defender together jumped and headed the ball. The white headed the ball to his teammate but got injured and fell down. Ref didn't blow and let the game go on.
In a few seconds, his teammate lost the control of ball and one blue got the ball and passed it to his teammate who was between the injured white player who still lay down on the field and other defenders. AR pull up the flag and CR blow against blue for offside.
In this case, the injured white player should be considered as the last seconde defender or not?

A player is a player, regardless of his action or inaction. He only ceases to be considered in counting defenders if he is off the field with permission. Did he fall or crawl over the endline to get out of the way? He may have had implicit permission to be off the field. Then he wouldn't count in determining offside.

You only mention this one fallen white player, who I presume if he remained on the field was very close to the goal line. It takes 2 to prevent offside. Where was the blue player in relation to the second last defender (2LD)? Was that defender the keeper, maybe? And the blue player, having gone down to the goal line, was now behind the keeper or other 2LD?

I see. I got the idea. Whatever happens to the defender, if he is still on the field, CR doesn't blow and play is carried on, he should be counted as player when offside happens. Is it correct?
Thanks!
