well, hope it work!hes really a class act.would love to see him alongside cisse(remember that he was last years champions league top scorer),they would make a very good partnership, but what will happene with baros???I think that if morientes did come,he would have no chance of starting any game for liverpool,so think it would be wise of him to find a new club, and re-start his career.

and seems that Kewell had a great match for Australia(even if they played a ************ team).hope that he get his form back and silences all his critics

Hmmm...I don't know, Juventus is on his trail as well and I think they will get him because Trezeguet is out for 4 months.

We definitely need another quality striker to work with Baros and Cisse, so it makes sense to go after someone like Morientes. And why would Baros want to leave? He knows that he's an important member of our squad.... squad being the key word here.

And as for Kewell, he only played the first half of the game last night and despite scoring a goal, looked a little bit out of touch. Having said that, we were hardly tested playing the Solomon Islands, so it's hard to gauge Kewell's form from that performance. It was more like a training run for the Socceroos, and Kewell got through fine.

YEAH,true, heard that rumour aswell.it was only a matter of time before top european clubs would be knocking at his agents door.Lets just hope that Benitez manages to persuade him to come to liverpool, since hes spanish and we have another 4 spanish players

I was hoping that either Morientes or Eto'o would be part of the package w/ Owen, but Alonso was nice compensation I guess, especially if we can buy Morientes.

I think Baros will stay with the team regardless of whether or not Morientes is signed. Honestly, is Cisse that much more entrenched as the starter up front than Baros? How much would Baros go for anyway? The asking price after the Euro Cup was 10M pounds, right? No one made a move then, and he was coming off a great tournament. I feel that if the team can continue to improve and create chances for him, Baros will be a great success at Liverpool.

That being said, I would LOVE to see Morientes paired with Cisse up front.

i thought Kewell played shiite whenever he had the ball he looked slow and awkward it just wasn't happening naturally. he looked scared to even take on the defenders and if he can't take on this team whats he going to do against the best in the world.

I would much rather have Benitez go for Vincente or SWP...to completely solidify the midfield.

SWP would be awesome. Vicente would be as well, but like I said, I think it's very unlikely.

I hope and pray Kewell regains his form quickly, because I feel like his days at Liverpool are numbered.

Well, Liverpool certainly need another quality (ideally proven) forward. I haven't been completely enthused about the forward line play thus far, as it seems neither option has really found his groove, which is absolutely understandable, especially in Cisse's case. I have to admit my begrudging patience for Baros may wane by the spring if he doesn't integrate. I realize Baros hasn't had the best chances to find himself up to this year, but if he can't do it this year, I'm not sure he is a proper fit for the personnel or system(s). Maybe we could get him some mirrored shoes, so he might be able to find other players when his head is down.

It would also be nice if Benitez found a forward that liked to play off other players, would come back for the ball, and not just be tied to the trough.

Not that I'm the manager, but I see the Cisse role as attacking opposing back lines, and trying to use his speed to get behind the defense, while the other forward plays more withdrawn. It also seems like Baros wants to play with someone behind him, as evidenced (and please correct me if I'm misremembering) by the Czech system in euro.

I think Morientes, among others, would more than qualify, but if Liverpool sells Baros, Liverpool are still going to need one more, current aspirations being what they are.
