Last time Iran was up for a world cup spot, the boys from Bahrain knocked them out of the running. Granted, some of the atheletes that comprised the Bahrain side were from Morroco, Nigeria, and other parts of Africa. I hope one day, the neighboring Arab countries will be able to participate with home-grown atheletes rather than foreign transplants. Likewise is true for Qatar. Home-grown talent is hard to come by and that little country also resorts to transplanting players.

Don't get me wrong, the Iranian government also believes in transplants. It believes that it should take talented Iranian players that may contribute to Iran's success in world cup qualifying and transplant them on the bench, so that Iranians will not revolt and poor out into the streets because of world cup qualifying jubilations. ;)

My prediction 2-1 Iran :D

We're going to knock Qatar out 2-0. Qatar is an improved team but they are still no match for Iran if we bring our "A" game. If however if Iran takes Qatar lightly we will watch WC on our TV sets and so will our TM.
