I wonder if Bridge is going to be healthy again.
I think I have to miss this one; I'll watching the rapidly deteriorating Ohio State football team take on Iowa in Iowa City.

Getting ready?
Is it me or does it seem like months since our last game?

I am with you on that one, these 2 week off international junkets are a real pain so early in the season. Especially as I had to miss the Liverpool game, although I did manage to catch it on TV.
It is feast or famine time. Nothing for ages then 3 home games in 7 days.

Dr Intox-- I'm making my way over for the Bolton Wanderers and PSG matches. Want to hook up for a few pre match pints? My mates usually grab a large table in the rear of Wetherspoon's.

You know, I just watched the Liverpool game again, and I'm feeling more and more confident about things in general. I couldn't count the number of times the commentators said "unlucky" in regards to our attack. It was never "oh, Liverpool just fail to connect" it was "unlucky" again and again. There were at least 5 instances where a slightly cleaner hit of the ball would have produced a goal. Or a simple cutback (are you listining Joe?). Or Gallas just touching on a Lampard ball with the goal yawning. Or Gallas and Gudjohnsen not taking each other out when both were through on goal. Just a bit unlucky.
Against a defense like Citeh, if we just get a little lucky, we could score considerably more. Lets just hope Anelka doesn't have anything to say about it on the other end.

Thats going to be the interesting thing to see about this new team that Mourinho has formed.
What will we do when we let in 2 goals in a game, how will we react, and, most important, where will we get three in reply from?

Don't know about him, but, Kezman has to be simply licking his lips at the prospect of (likely) getting a full 90 against City ;)

Watching the last few games again, I realised that IF only Frannk could put his shooting boots on. He didn't make any awful misses in the last few games, just that a player of his quality getting into the right position, getting the shot in, should really start getting a few to go in. Luck? Yeah, we looked unlucky not to win most of the games 2-0 rather than 1-0 :)

Strikers up front starting?
I dont like Mutu's odds and its likely we'll see Kezman instead of mutu. Gudjohnsen along with Kezman probably. Does anyone know how long robben played with Holland in these past qualifiers?

I fancy our chances. City's defence has been better this season. Our only worry is whether we can score without Didi. He has been in every game and now suddenly he's out. Kezman, to me, still looks like he hasn't found his way to goal yet. Showed some flashy skills but not enough substance. Easily pushed off the ball. Guddy not firing on all cylinders though he did get one against Sweden.
I think Jose will line up the boys 4-3-3 as usual, Guddy leading the line and Kezman on the right. If Gallas plays, he better be on the lookout for SWP. He and Anelka are City's biggest threats. Our backline will be severely tested. So far, most teams tend to sit back against us, but not Keegan. So there will be more space to exploit for us. If we can get an early goal, this could be a rout. If not, it would be very close. Jose could also play it safe with a front three of Duff, Guddy/Kezman and Cole.
Up the blues...

I think that Kezman will benefit from a full 90 mins on the pitch and I think he will be playing more like he did in the preseason games.
I think he will be good for a few goals this season.

Parker will be on bench and JM discusses roster issues:

I think this is the match we breakthrough and score 3. Still want to see Gud and Kez start togeather with Duff. I think Parker will get some time to show the squad that those who act professionally and keep their yaps shut get a chance to play and those who do not, lose two weeks salary and watch maches on tv.

I am very happy that Jose said this:
“Scott Parker is one of the best pros I have ever met in my career,” he added.
He works everyday absolutely amazing, he doesn’t need words to try to get a place because his work is fantastic.
“Normally the players know before the media but today the media can know before the players. He is selected, he will be on the bench against Manchester City. I have a lot of respect for him and our relationship is good.”
