Great highlight. And I really mean that too. Before showing the game-winning goal, I believe Steve Levy set up the game, telling us about the unbeaten record at stake, and then saying that the Crew could clinch the East Title by winning. The showed the Edson Buddle goal, with a replay. As they were leaving the highlight, they showed Jon Busch walking off the field clapping. Excellent job, ESPN. You should have seen it...I hope you did because SportsCenter is awesome.

How many more details do you need? They showed highlights on Sportscenter and didn't bash the sport.

Well, ESPN has to start setting up MLS buzz with all the NHL time to fill, right?http://www.hulklibrary.com/hulk/images/hulk-from-the-movie.jpg You pulling a Bruce Banner during a sideline broadcast... now THAT would be some tv worth watching! ;)

Grant Wahl said that MLS is in talks with ESPN about having a few more games on the networks. I bet ESPN will nix that or ask for too much money.

Also, Beckham's goal was the #1 play of the day, with sarcasm more directed at Brits than soccer. They also mentioned Real Salt Lake. One of them said something like "when you think soccer, you think Real Madrid." What's going on over there?

You see it from time to time, mostly when ESPN has a game to hype. Just like before the WC about the same time they introduced the play of the day/top ten concept, several times there were EPL highlights included.
Either that, or one of their weekend interns must like soccer. They'll beat it out of him soon enough. :)
Thx,
Jay!
