What do you all think about Mutu? I think Mouriho is really going to come down hard on him. Show him (and the team) who's boss. I think we've seen the last of him for good. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Carlton Cole recall (I would actually welcome it very much).
I think Jose sees this as the first time he is getting challenged here at Chelsea. If he smacks Mutu down now, it'll keep other players for getting out of line (ala Parker, Geremi, etc.)
What do you think? I would love to see a Kezman/Eidur/Carlton partnership for the next 4 weeks. With whoever comes out on top starting next to Drogba when he comes back.

We can't recall him until January so I don't think you'll be seeing any of Carlton in blue until then.

Sky sports last night at 7 said we have told Villa we won't be recalling him at all this season.

one of those three wouldnt play together, as duff would be in that left forward spot.

Slightly off topic, but I think we're handling the Cole, Forssell (and to a lesser extent Kneissel) situations the wrong way. Instead of spending money on the Crespos, Mutus etc. of this world (I know money is no object with us, but there's still chemistry issues to consider)...We should have these young home grown guys as our reserve strikers instead of players that are used to being the stars on their teams...All the more so if they've had a season or two of Premiership under their belts.
I think maybe even Leon Knight would be more valuable than most of the recent foreign striker signings we've had (Drogba-and maybe Kezman-notwithstanding.)...

Look, weve picked up poorly last season. No ones doubting that. But its stupid to suddenly only buy premiership or british players as that will severely limit our options as a team. What we need is quality players prepared to hang around for the long hall who have their heads on straight. All of our post-Mourinho signings have been quality players with their heads on straight. After being lambasted on this board for being "crap", Ferreira is allready shown himself to be the best right back in the premiership. Didier Drogba has been our most consistant and dangerious striker with something like 5 goals in 9 games and most of our good work forward of centre has gone through him. Ricardo Carvalho has barely put a foot wrong for Chelsea since arriving, his done a great job from day 1 and hasn't cause any problems with management. Tiago's run hot and cold at times, but his long range passing definately adds another dimension to Chelsea and as such he complements Lampard well. Yes we have made mistakes in the past season in the transfer market, but I see no reason why I Torres or a Ronaldinho is going to be anymore difficult as a player than a Carlton Cole who has run afoul with previous Chelsea management.
As for chemistry. Carlton Cole has spent now more time on the pitch player first team action with Drogba and Kezman than Torres or Ronaldinho has.

Not that I wanted it to happen this way, or there should be any question now that Drogba is the # 1 striker here, but I have wanted to see those two open up a real match togeather as they showed the best teamwork and understanding as a "strike team" pre-season, for how little that may mean..
But I want Drogba back quick, quick none the less.
p.s. off topic but did anyone see rio, bravo by the banks is where my drugs do grow, dish Terry on Sky Sports.
Asked about Eng. having 4 ready to start top quality central defenders the a$%%^% said yes myself, Sol, Ledly King and do not forget Woodgate...
I would look forward to the spring match up, but why think ahead to facing a mid-table side.

I didn't mean play all three together. I meant use them as a sort of rotation.
I agree on the point someone made about laying off on our recent signings. It's freakin Oct and people are saying guys are crap already. Give them time to adjust. I agree with Ferreira is showing himself to be one of the top RB's in the EPL. Carvalho has certainly replaced Gallas and done a tremendous job. Tiago's been streaky and Drogba is still adjusting, as should be expected, especially since he's had NO help up front. Eidur is going to be on milkboxes soon if he keeps up his play.

I think we can say that Muti is gone, but I don't think JM will rush out to sign anyone, I don't see no panic buying in the window.
Strikers - Drogba, Eidur, Kezman
Players that can play up front alongside strikers OR in the hole OR on either side the left or right wing - Joe Cole, Duff, Robben.
Rooney would have been a good buy - a player that would be happy to be part of the squad rather than an automatic starter - still ManUre have him now.
Losing Drogba, I think Kezman can do the Drogba job. IF we lose both of those lads through injury we'd have to play in a slightly different way.
I'm sure Jose is always looking around at players to see what is out there but I dont see him making any panic buys.

I agree BridgeMonkee, Mourinho doesn't rush into things. I don't think he does anything spontaneously. Everything has a reason behind it.
I am SO glad we didn't buy Rooney. I think he'll never live up to all the hype. He's good, but he's not that good. I'd be really surprised if he winds up becoming a Man U legend. The other good thing about them buy Rooney is now they are DONE buying players unless they sell someone. Someone like Saha. I'd take him. Would you? I'd rather Alan Smith but...
Here's a thought for a strike option that I haven't seen anyone propose yet...Filipe Oliveira. He's Portugese, he's from Porto...hmmm...could we see him getting a few runouts? What do you think? I'd welcome a young player we've (sort of) brought up (like Huth).

Oliveira had a good 20mins playing on the right last season vs. everton (his only 1st team game of that season). though, i've heard he's been a bit iffy so far this year in the reserves. perhaps after january.

Well, this sheds light on how Carlton Cole feels.

Now then, lets say Mutu does indeed get the one way ticket in January and we bring in nobody else, that will leave Forssell and Cole with a chance i suppose.

And bring in a lot of heated arguments in the dressing room. But no doubt, Zlatan is class. Glad he's at Juve, we could do with a good striker like him.
