Christy Pearce?!!! What is Ape smoking? REALLY!!
What happened? Did the rest of the defenders she envited turned her down? Pearce was part of the worst defense the in WUSA history.(yeah lonnng 2 yrs.) She was one of the main reasons they stunk.
It's good to see Tarpley( the best US U19 player) get invited. Should be interesting to see who becomes the US midfield playmaker in the future: Wagner or Tarpley? I can't wait to see them play together.

Ok first if you think shes as horrible as you say, at least spell her name rite. I dont think if she is as bad as ur saying, she would have started and played pretty much ever minute of the Olympics, and help USA win the silver medal. She was a mainstay at right defense until her ACL tear, and should be coming back better than ever. She was also called up for the Scotland camp, and April MUST be seeing improvement in her play since she is called back yet again.
Please enlighten me on how horrible she is by pointing out what she does wrong, etc.
Oh yea...here we go again.
Charge!

Back to the future, baybee :p
April is now inviting folks who had great 200*1* stats, like Pags, Pearce, etal...

I'm totally scratchin' my head over Pags being called in. Why do we need four keepers in camp? I'd like to see that spot spent on looking at a field player.

Fair, as usual, I don't see... and Mitts? is this a popularity contest?

I definitely think Pearcie deserves a fair shot at trying to win back her position. As for the Pags thing...well...at least its not Hope Solo.
WAR USA

As usual, I have an extreme number of questions about the roster, but in the interest of my sanity, Im going to try not to think about it too hard. The main one is, though, what's up with no Tiff Milbrett? I know it said she was "recovering" from a long WUSA season...Is she hurt?

I think Millie might be a little burnt out. Or sore...recuperating...who knows. If I go to the game at Mitchel, I'll find her and ask.

Kelly Wilson had an awesome tournament playing with the US-U19s. She must have been on the bubble for call-ups; perhaps if there was room for another field player, she'd be there, too.

I guess we don't think about it because they're athletes but ya know everybody needs a vacation sometime!

I know what you mean. But who knows, maybe she was asked to join the NT but declined for college??
Why does BigSoccer have so many Chicken Little's running around screaming that the sky is falling? ;)
Heinrichs Names 28 to Train for 2002 Nike U.S. Women’s Cup (http://www.ussoccer.com/news/fullstory.sps?iNewsid=22136&itype=)
This is a training roster. It will be pared down to 18 in a week. The training will serve a dual purpose for Heinrichs, who will choose 18 players to represent the USA in the tournament, but will also be using the time to evaluate her pool in preparation for the 2002 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, which will serve as the USA's qualification tournament for the 2003 Women's World Cup in China. Still, if Ms. Heinrich's bringing in four 'keepers, why not five and let that Philly CheeseSteak get her nose bloodied a bit before sending her home with Pags and Beene? :)

Does she go through this process again in 3 weeks?
When exactly does the actual World Cup team surface? just curious...
Nat, the charge keeper is "moore" of a hoagie. ;)
