Hey everyone, I thought I would start a thread where maybe we could all get on the same page for this Saturday.
Maybe there is no plan yet, however I will be showing up early to be able to take the whole experience in. I can show up around 11:00 am or earlier if need be to help if we are planning to set anything up.
Let me know.
PS, do we all need to wear little name tags with our Bigsoccer names? (hope not)

I'll be there in my Orange County Zodiac shirt (to troll Joe Cannon) or my 1994 adidas USA Chivas jersey.
The Captain Of The 2023 WWC Champions will also be there, to teach everyone how to screech at the top of their lungs.
So, Blitzzfan; should we be there early to help out? Where should we go to help out?

I'll wear a white sports coat and carnation.
(Isn't that how the song goes?)

I, too, will arise with the sun and march forth to the stadium! (I don't know where that came from!!?)

Lookin' Good!
I just got off the phone with the FO. They want to make sure the Loyalists are feeling the love. Also called to make sure we were aware of the hiring of the coach, John Ellinger.
I feel good about the relationship with the team. We have men from DC & Chicago who know how to do things right. (The locals aren't bad either.)
As for Sat, the gates will open at 11am. I plan on being there by 10:30. Consider your offers to help at the Loyalist table accepted! Ideas are also be accepted too.
The event will be on the Olympic Plaza at the south end of the stadium.
They will have free grub and team gear will be for sale.
I don't know what color to wear or if kilts are in order. Guess I'll wear the US jersey, '94 denim vintage or white '02 vintage.

I think I have a great idea for the supporter's group, if the FO would support it (give us a little space at games to put up a table). This wouldn't be ready in time for Saturday, but it's an idea to think about.
How about the Loyalists create the "Unofficial Merchandise of MLS SLC"?
We could create gear that does NOT include the official logo or anything copyrighted, but I'm sure we could come up with some catchy sayings and offer things at prices much lower than the official gear.
We could use all the profits for our banners and cool stuff for the loyalists section. I'm sure between my desktop publishing skills and mckid's graphics connections, we could come up with some very professional stuff.

Jules,
This is exactly what the FO offered. They offered their connections to "manufacture scarves, polos, hats; whatever you want, can be done."
But rather than unofficial Alliance/Real/Highlander/Glory gear, it will be Official Loyalist gear. And yes, proceeds will benefit the Loyalists.
I kind of doubt that we'll get a concession stand of our own. I suspect most of this will take place on our website. We can run a store online, right Orlando?

Cool. We have quite a bit of "free" room right now on geocities.com.
But at some point some real server space would be nice.
I am more than happy to start a "online store front" as part of our website. Give me some more ideas and I'll get to work.
However, I have a fee. SOMEONE HAS TO CALL ME DURING THE OPEN HOUSE SO I KNOW WHAT THE NAME IS ON SATURDAY!!!!!!
Please?
peace!

Hey I would be more than happy to call you during the conference on Saturday, but not if the whole stadium is dead quiet and I'm whispering into a cell phone. I'll call you as soon as it's REASONABLE without disturbing the people I'm sitting around. Or alternately, you'll just get a call and I won't say hello. I'll just hold the phone up for you to hear what's happening. That's cool.
However, there's an easier way. I read somewhere it'll be broadcast on mlsnet.com. So that would be a little easier for you! :)

Really? Where did you hear that? I haven't read that on MLSnet yet.
Get back to me (and thanks for helping me out).

blitzzfan, glad to hear that the FO is so supportive, even down to helping us with something that will help fundraising. I'm very impressed! They're one step ahead of us all the way!
Let's make some shirts that are more than just a bad supporter's club logo and the name of the team. Let's think up something a little more spicy and original, something that will really appeal to people for the sake of the shirt and not just the team. We could make this the focus of part of a Loyalist's meeting sometime, to get some creative juices flowing. :)
As far as setting up an online store, I'm sure Ethan can tell you more than I can, but I know that that will be at least a little more complex than simple coding. You have to worry about some security, etc. I don't know if geocities has support for the kind of stuff we'll need. Again, Ethan can tell you more... However, I would move that once the name is official, we fork out the $15 for the domain and see if we can get some free hosting.
