This week's issue of Time (10/11/04) features an IBM Tivoli ad that has soccer fans dressed in Charleton Battery garb. They obviously have been put into a European streetscape (that inexplicably has American flags). The ad follows page A12.
I wonder if this was product placement, happenstance or an inside job? Anybody know what's goin' on?
On the whole, it's pretty neat. I think it's really cool that they snubbed MLS and didn't go foreign.
Also, I know that they place different ads based on location. If they are putting different ads in based on demographics/lifestyle (I'm an A-League fan (especially Rochester) and in IT management) that's scary.
