In an effort to boost the value and skill of my PM trainees, I did some impulsive buying a couple of days ago. I know this is a big no no and I'm definately feeling some buyer's remorse now. Before the purchases, I had 6 IMs training and 5 of them had popped to solid PM. There is one left (Potiguar) woh will pop soon. All of these guys have crap for passing. I bought two new trainees, Ulf and Zygmunt, who I thought would be good becuase they have passable and solid passing respectively. See the screenshot for more detail.

My question is this:
Who should I keep? Right now I plan on keeping Ulf, who has passable PM and passable passing. I think he was a good purchase. In order to make room for him, I'm selling my oldest IM (Fleming), who popped to solid recently and will take the longest to pop to excellent.

Should I also make room so I can keep Zygmunt? He's an inad PM/solid passing. Now I know that he will be great if I can get that PM up to solid or excellent, but should I spend that much time on him when one of my other IMs could be up to formidable or higher in the same time? I want to make as much money as possible off of my trainees, so please take that into consideration. I also created a spreadsheet to track this, which helped me to keep Ulf. The values below are estimate dusing the HT Buddy Calculator, which will tell me approx how much these guys will be worth when they pop. I've added 3 stamina to all of them because I will trian stamina for three weeks.

Let me know what you think---thanks!

Train up their stamina like you plan on doing. It will up their value considerably while giving your squad a needed ratings boost. Second, while playing with HT Buddy, I have noticed that there is a considerable jump in TPE for IM's when you pop their passing from weak to inadequate. Play with buddy and see for yourself. However I have not done enough research to determine if the market bears this out.

If I were in this situation, I would sell Fleming and then train passing and sell the first 17 year old (soon to be 18) that pops from 4 to 5 in passing. Or I would train passing until Di Fazio pops to inad passing and sell him.

How many weeks of training does it take for the passing skill to pop, considering that player is at the bottom level? Is it really worth it to take that much PM training away from my trainees?

Passing training takes 5 weeks for a 17 yo and is age dependent.

How do you know that they're at the bottom level?

I have no clue. Is there any way to tell?

the only way to maybe tell is by TSI. But no, there really is no way to tell for sure.

Well, Zygmunt is getting listed right now. I'm going to take a big loss on him, for sure.
