I PIC'd, played my IM as goalie, played my forwards as defenders, and played my two goalies as forwards.
I unfortunately lost 8-0. :)

Yeah.. I had similar thoughts but my pride got in the way. (not judging... we all have our reasons.. but as Herm Edwards says, "You play to win the game")
I figured the team I was facing was too strong. They had 3 5star midfielders and my best rating ever for my very young team is 3 stars.
I figured wrong. My team scored first on a penalty shot only to have my best IM injured (3 weeks) and replaced by my youngest IM (who would be good.. but not yet).
Then the crazyness happened.
Their 5000 TSI IM is injured.
Their top forward scored to equalize 1-1 and 1 minute after he is knocked out of the game.
Then his other forward recieves a second yellow and they're down to 10
Then a second IM is injured.. but stays in the game?!?
Overtime and still all tied
Goes to Pens, My #2 Forward kicks 1 into Pawtucket. 2-1... 3-2... 4-3...
and then a clutch save by my almost solid Goalie. I equalize... and then my WB scores the winner 5-4!
Looking at Buddy I actually ended up winning the Midfield by 1% and my left attach somehow dominated. My final star count was +3 and I didn't MOTS or anything.
So now Watertown is in for an interesting year.
Positives: Won the game, 10% supporter boost, more sponsorship money (anyone know how much more?), maybe more $ from D-V ticket sales?, Promotion to a pretty active league (though my VI was pretty active too.. no Bots), Local Boston team demoted from IV for rival.
Negatives: Top 4 teams are much, much more establised. The Boston Team looks like a machine and should dominate, Middle / Bottom of the table looks like I could compete with them by the end of the season. Likely I'll finsih 6/7 and have a qualifier. 5-6 of my IMs should be Formidable + by years end.
Hopefully I can hold back the supporters fleeing from the stadium but with the 10% bump it should be a wash. With the extra cash I might grab a strong WB (28-30 YRS, Solid D, Weak+ Wing, Ok passing) to solidify my Back line. A Solid #2 scorer (Solid Scorer with experience and passing) is an option also (I have about $150K until I'm 200K in debt.. figure it's now or never.. and if I'm smart in my signings I might get both.)

thats a great story LaBella...well done. That day of glory is certainly worth more IMO than those who tank qualifiers to goto or stay in a lower division...
Won my qualifier 11-0 against a bot team, ho hum. Its my third straight yr of having to win a qualifier to stay in v.52. Next yr its fourth place (at least) or bust...

I went into my match knowing that I was going to put up my best performance ever. It looked like a tough matchup with a former defense trainer who now trains scoring and plays a 3-4-3, with advanced scoring trainees that are at least as good as my strikers. My best chance would be to win the midfield and beef up my attack, and count on bad TS on their side thanks to an MOTS last week to win the series.
My team's performance exceeded my expectations, with a 192 rating (98 old-style), besting my previous top rating by 31 points (!). I spent 2 million on a nice well-rounded winger to beef up my wing attacks. And for all of that, I had it easy because my opponent threw the match. Oh well... I wanted to stay up, and I'm certainly not complaining about having the suspense taken out of it.

I won my qualifier to stay up, 6-1. First win since August, it feels good.
However, the two new teams coming up from V look very strong. All eight teams will be fairly evenly matched next season. It is gonna be even tougher than last season with no easy wins out there.
My Sunday evenings are gonna be stressful from Halloween until the New Year I guess! :D

And on that note, a 32 rating (19 NSI) is pretty impressive, I don't think I'd ever seen anything below the mid-20's before.

How is that calculated?
I had my best striker and best defender get injured during the match so would my ranking be any higher if they had stayed in the entire game?

It's new (old) Hatstats ratings, aka CSI (my apellation for the new rating) and NSI. If you hadn't suffered injuries, your ratings probably would have been at least a little bit higher.
