Here's what my series will look like next year (and I'm almost 100% sure this will be the lineup as there are 3 teams automatically changing [#1, #7, #8], #5 plays a bot team, and I should win easily against #6). These are all the ratings each team got in their last regular season matchup, how do you guys think I (Norge Vikings) will do next year with my current lineup:

Only 3 supporters out of 8. Teams are averaging around 29-30 stars a game. Teams in places 2-4 appear to have been around for upwards of 5+ seasons. Looks like if I don't heavily invest in my team, it's gonna be a real long fight to promote out of D5. Some of these guys have players pulling 5, 6, and 7 stars per match.

v.251 for the 6th season, 5th full one. The first place team tanked their qualifier, after coming down last year when they tanked a season. I finished 4th last season. The second place team is currently a scoring trainer, may be switching to defense though, is very good, but I may compete better with them this year. Third is another team I can compete with, but it'll be tough. 5th and 6th don't worry me too much both seem to be satisfied to finished 5th or 6th, but they may be in trouble this year though, one of the teams coming up isn't great, but was a good defense, and has a formidable CA which will be interesting, but his bad midfield should be his down fall. The other autopromotie though is not one I am greatly worried about though, but we will see, I'll probably finish 3-4 this season.

Based on last season's info, I would have been able to compete for 4th place. Bit of a gap between teams 1-3 and 4-8. This season looks even better. Last season's #1 team promoted and is being replaced by an ownerless/walkover team from Div. IV. The #8 team that promoted up is also a bot team. Unless somebody does some major upgrading in the next few weeks, I should have a fair shot at 3rd place.

To sum up how things are in my series (V.246):

The number 4 team has 10 players with a TSI better than my best player. He seems to pull really good ratings but somehow slipped into fourth last year.

All the other teams in the bottom half of the series are fairly comparable to mine.

Same series with the guy Norge beat coming down. don't expect it to be too hard.

I finished third. The #1 is a demotee from IV and a scoring trainer (claims he trains keepers though). His attack ratings are scary. I just hope i can keep midfield to lessen his chances.

Of the 7 and 8 promoters, one is ownerless and will reset shortly. 5 and 6 won their qualifiers.

To maintain my place i will need to upgrade my defense/keeper and probably my forwards as well.

How did an ownerless team promote?

How did an ownerless team promote?
Won his series. I'm guessing he was leading the series late in the year and then his owner stopped logging in. Since none of the other teams couldn't catch him, he promoted.

I should have very good chances of winning this season. Just bought a 5.5* world class playmaker for 2.8 mil and I've got six million coming in next week (or the next two weeks)...

I'm now actively looking at dipping into the red to purchase at least 4 players with ratings approaching 4.0 for their positions

Still in series IV.28, two new teams.

One has an incredible defense, with a 7 star defender he paid 4 mill for.

The other is a strong all round team. My series is gonna be really close throughout.

Meet the new series, same as the old series. ;)

Well, OK, not exactly. There's a demotee coming into IV.40 from III, plus the two dregs have gotten the predicted quick trip back to V, so we also have the autopromoters. Will the newcomer from III dominate the series on the way to a quick return? Are the autopromoters ticketed for a quick autodemotion back to V? Let's have a closer look -- rankings are by finish last season or assignment into the series.

1. First is the demotee from III, los chingones. They're an interesting case, a defense trainer who posts good defense ratings and midfield but pathetic attack ratings. They look more solid on overall ratings than the rest of the series, but it's an open question how the lack of offense will play. Prediction: 1st place.

2. OC Berserkers started last season with a big war chest. Then they spent $8 million on a divine midfielder form Sverige and watched him slowly bankrupt the team (putting up nasty midfield ratings along the way). Bernt Torsson was unloaded at a cut-rate price of $4 million and a big loss for Berserkers. The team looked pretty pedestrian the rest of the way. If they don't spend money, I might be able to catch up to them. Berserkers haven't played a friendly in a while (despite continuing to log in), so their forward training program must be lagging. Prediction: 3rd place.

3. The third-place finisher BayArea was just a hair ahead of the pack last season. Their only recent acquisition is a magnificent-world class (ballpark) keeper, presumably to shore up flagging defensive ratings. BayArea is a midfield trainer, so it may take a bit of a spending spree for Brays to be able to match them in midfield; although the team isn't all that far ahead, it may be unrealistic to hope for more than a split. As with last season, timing of the home match may be a problem -- then it preceded a must-win cup match, so didn't really get my full attention. Prediction: 2nd place.

4. Somehow, Whackers United FC managed to leverage a defense-heavy, counterattacking strategy into a 4th-place finish, thanks in part to a split with BayArea and with OC Berserkers (the latter partly gifted by the late-season decline in Berserkers' ratings). Brays was unlucky not to beat WUFC in the late-season match at their place, and if they don't spend some money to match us, we should finish ahead. Prediction: 4th or 5th place.

5. Buckeye FC is a little bit of a mystery to me; they don't put up a lot of stars, but still turned out competitive performances against teams that Brays management wrote off. In the end, the fifth-place finish came down to 3 goals of differential as both teams finished with mirror-image records (Buckeye with a win at home against BayArea but a road pratfall against autodemotee LA ScullKickers). Buckeye is a fellow keeper trainer, but their trainees do not appear to be as far along as Brays'. If Buckeye does not spend money going into next season, Brays will almost certainly pass them. Prediction: 6th or 7th place.

6. Brays Bayou FC is me. Keeper trainer (for at least two more seasons), but paradoxically with a weak defense. Well-rounded in attack, we have employed both a 3-4-3 and a 3-5-2 with success. If near world class keeper Jonathan Zuidema is transferred in the next few weeks, we'll be splashing some cash around and trying to solidify rating in the same territory that we put up in the qualifier. Prediction: 4th to 6th place.

7. Our first autopromotee is UWP-Rangers. Unlike the departed LA ScullKickers, UWP is a capable club that puts up average ratings similar to my own. They are a forward trainer, but the starters in league are a little old to be optimal for training. The team hasn't made any recent purchases, and based on the sizable transfer deficit, they probably aren't sitting on much cash right now. UWP has a chance at sticking in the league, and makes the tight battle from this season between Whackers, Buckeye, and Brays more dangerous. Prediction: 6th or 7th place.

8. On the other hand, TheSpastic-Snowballers looks like a dead ringer for the deparated InsertCoin F.C., albeit with a different training program. Winners of a weak series in V (except for a clear MOTS, nobody else had ratings outside the 100-teens), Snowballers is now training midfielders, but with a set of trainees in their early 20's (and not particularly distinguished in skill). They've made a recent significant transfer acquisition for $1 million, but a very puzzling one -- a keeper who gets only 0.5* more than the incumbent, which strikes me as a pretty poor way to upgrade for $1 million considering that neither their wingers nor their forwards are good enough to compete in this series. Prediction: 8th place.

V.208 for the third full season.

1. The D.IV demotee is Dragons Lost Star. They look like defensive trainers, and they threw theur qualifier to get back down to D.V. They can pull an all passable defense, and their mf runs poor to weak, but that comes at teh expense of their offense, which is poor. They'll compete, but if they expected to come down and dominate I think they'll be surprised. Predicted finish: 2nd or 3rd

2. Cerrano United was in first place from the beginning of the season until the very last day when he tied me to lose the series title by one point. This year he should promote. He has a very scary set of midfield trainees, and also has the strongest attack and defense in teh league. If he doesn't get overconfident, he'll be sure to promote.

3.My team (Flatirons FC) did better than expected this year and finished third. My series mates attribute it to luck, I attribute it to having kick ass set-piece takers and paying a lot of attention to where their weak spots are. And some luck. My team is pretty average all-around; my goal for the season is to upgrade my midfield and defense and finish fourth. Since everyone else in my series is a defensive trainer, at the end of this season (no later than the middle on next) I'll probably switch from GK training to scoring training. Predicted finish:3rd to 5th.

4. sputnik's was the only one of three D.VI promotees to survive last season, and they did so in excellent fashion. They are another defensive heavy team, although he has just recently change to training midfield. He's another mid-table team, and should compete to avoid a playoff spot. Predicted finish:3rd to 5th.

5. Evil Runtities are my biggest rival in the series. For a while we were the only ones active in our conference, but now 6 of the 8 teams are pretty active (even the new promotees). Runts are a little clueless about how to run their team but have the ultimate luck with youth pulls. He makes some attempts at daytrading and is a dedicated defensive trainer. Although he has made big strides upgrading his midfield, he will, once again, finish in a qualifying spot. Predicted finish: 5th or 6th.

6. Bacchanale were a new team at the beginning of the season and managed to stay up mostly through their dedicated goalie skill-trading regimen. They scored two surprise upsets (over me and runts) and tried to throw their qually against a bot, but still won 3-2 (even with a disasterous MF and disasterous attack). They are the enigma this year, but I don't think their MF will be strong enough to compete, unless they seriously upgrade. Predicted finish: 7th.

7. One of only 2 D.VI promotees this year, Green mountain Blizzard trounced their series. They are defensive trainers, and have a very similar team to Runts. They also should have a similar finish.Predicted finish: 4th or 5th

8. The other autopromotee is Auxiliary Scuba Divers. ALthough he has a great team name, and is already active in our conference, his team is pretty stinky, pulling poor ratings across the board (with a wretched MF). He's another defensive trainer, but I'm afraid that his trip up to D.V will be a short one. Predicted finish: 8th

Series Prediction:

1. Cerrano United
2. Dragons Lost Star
3. sputnik's
4.Flatirons FC
5. Green Mountain Blizzard
6. Evil Runtities
7. Bacchanale
8. Auxiliary Scuba Divers

And on a completely different note, it's funny how easily I've gotten used to the new ratings. I really have to think to understand what Zeek's ratings mean.

Since everyone else is giving a detailed description, I thought I would eliaborate on mine.

1. The Romulus Asylum, starting his second season in the series, demoteed last season, when he threw his season 22 season. He came down and didn't do as well as I thought, but that's probably due to him throwing games. He pulls a weak midfield, and is a scoring trainer and is very good all around. He threw his qualifer this year when he didn't need to because he was gonna lose it most likely anyways. Unless he throws games again this year, I only see one game he will lose, away to Cool Breeze. Prediction 1st

2. Cool Breeze, led the series for most of the season last year after upseting Romulus early in the season. It didn't fool him though, he knew he wasn't gonna win it most likely, although he could have if he didn't lose in the last week. He's a scoring trainer, but he may be switching to defensive becaue he has just joined the defender trainer fed. He's a well rounded team that will definitly fight Romulus for a first. Prediction 2nd

3. Lakers F.C. Finished tied with Romulus and Breeze for first last year, as each won one and lost one against each other, making it log jam at the top of the series. He's normally pulling a high poor to a weak midfield, although in his last game he MOTS and got an inad so he can pull good ratings. HE as well seems to be a scoring trainer. It's kinda hard to tell though what he does train because he has a very young team, with lots of players under the age of 20. He'll need help though to have the season he did this past one, although he'll still have a good season, he will most likely not battle for promotion. Prediction 3-5.

4. Raytown Rangers 82, I'm coming off of a very disappointing season for me, I was hoping to battle for promotion, but in reality I started off very poorly and was not able to recover. I'm now better then I was though, I've improved my defense and my attack to help those areas out, while continuing to develop a very nice midfied. I have a feeling I can be right up there with Lakers this year, and possibly even steal a result from Breeze and Romulus on a rare occasion. Prediction 3-5

5. Timbuktu Rockets, is an older team in my series, but still acts a lot like a noob, he doesn't seem to have a totally set training regiment, but just seems to stick around every season due to his team, he will most likely have to battle to stay up this season, as he pulls a poor midfield, but the rest of his team pulls poors as well, which does not bod well for him in a series where the top teams are pulling inad or better in their non training areas as well. Prediction 6-7

6 Island Jazz has been my main rival and the second longest lasting team in the series next to me. He like Timbuktu doesn't seem to have a set training regiment, but does pull a poor midfield at times, although it's usually a low one. Again like Timbuktu, he will have to fight this year to stay up, as his team is not really that good and has not improved like the rest of the series. Prediction 7-8

7 Runnin Triz, a new division VI promotee, promoted from an all-bot league, but is an active user, scheduling friendlies every week. But I think he suffers from what a lot of teams (present company excluded) that come from all-bot leagues suffer from and that's a weak team. He pulls weak's an poors all over the field, and a wretched mifield. He seems to either be a winger or PM trainer, but I think he's probably promoted too soon. Prediction 7-8

8. Lakewood Gangstas This team promoted from an active series for the most part, and seems to be pretty active, he has supporter, so that's 3 in the series this season. He's a defensive trainer, his defense averages 3-4 stars per player, so he's decent back there. The one thing that really worries me though, is his CA ability, he pulled a formidable CA in his last game, which made me go out and buy my new goalie and forward so that I stay with him a little better. He'll most likely stay up this season at least. Prediction 4-5

So here is how I think my series shapes up this season
1. Romulus Asylum
2. Cool Breeze
3. Lakers F.C.
4. Raytown Rangers 82
5. Lakewood Gangstas
6. Timbuktu Rockets
7. Runnin' Triz
8. Island Jazz

After taking my lumps all season in the 25th ranked Div. V series, I am back down none too soon. I struggled with money/attendance so going back down to Div. VI with the economy changes is a blessing.
As for my series, there is one decent team whose owner hasn't logged in for 3 weeks and would only be fodder for the United squad anyway. This bunch of degenerant teams don't deserve to be analyzed. This series is nothing but roadkill, but at least all the bandwagoners that got pissed off after last season will come back. Screw them, I'm glad their ticket prices got raised.

Ok I'll give a new detailed report.

Teams 5-8: Green Card, Niles Extreme , Dinamo K, Las Vegas Saints will battle it out for the worst time in the division. All are new teams since about midway through last season.

4. Angermanagement-could provide to be a pain in the butt, but I doubt it.

3. The new guy based on what I saw his line up was against Norge.

2. real Sociad-might be a tough cookie, but having beat them 6-nil in the final game which might have decided the league champion, I think not.

1. Me-Why not, barely lost out on the league due to at least 2 WTF matches.
