Absolutely no doubt, Escape to Victory. Pele, Moore, Ardiles, John Wark and Stallone all on one team, unbeatable.

Why does this film have two names? In Britain we say "Escape to Victory", in America it is just "Victory".

Because Americans are not as long-winded as Brits.

Example:

Brits: A brilliant strike from 16 yards off the left foot results in the fortitude of the back netting threads being tested.
Americans: GOAL!!!

Actually, I really liked Shaolin Soccer.
It was soccer on steroids, and fun to watch.

"A Shot At Glory" is a fantastic film...lets just say the ending would make it or break it, and it definitely made it.

Also, "The Mean Machine" is a riot. One of the funniest films I've ever seen...but then again I'm a big Vinnie Jones fan (well, acting anyway! ;) )

The Game of Their Lives

A documentary about the North Korean soccer team at the 1966 World Cup in England. Brillant.

P.S. Victory or Escape to Victory or ,whatever you want to call it, is absolute rubbish.

Mean Machine is ok

Its a blatant rip off of the much funnier Burt Reynold's vehicle from the 1970s.

If you like (American) football check out the "The Longest Yard" -- the best (American) Football movie ever. Though the competition is not all that great.

This is my shout out to "Mean Machine". The soccer version of "The Longest Yard".

I agree with "A Shot at Glory". I've enjoyed watching it several times. I think it's a good view of life at a small club.

I also enjoy "Fever Pitch", even though it doesn't do the book justice. But it does have some great lines such as "Arsenal's form is hardly a good basis for a relationship, even this season."

"A Shot at Glory" is the best of them in my opinion. Its not exactly high calibre cinema but its a good movie that you can watch over and over.

Hey, where's "Bend It Like..." ?!? :P

I don't have a fave and haven't seen others except Victory...there's not much to choose from.
