The Game of Their Lives

A documentary about the North Korean soccer team at the 1966 World Cup in England. Brillant.

P.S. Victory or Escape to Victory or ,whatever you want to call it, is absolute rubbish.

That link goes to an online gaming page.

Pele and Sly - how can you top that?

Two other Pele entries: Hotshot, from 1987 - great to see an aspiring player carrying Pele on a run on the beach; and Once in a Lifetime: The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos - for the die-hard Cosmos and NASL fans. And a well-done movie.

But I like Patrick Stewart as the journalist covering the 1950 miracle game when the US beat England in the first round of the World Cup, The Game of Their Lives (of which I have a few posters from the Washington DC premiere) - and the title might have since changed.

The prison one with Stallone is really terrible if you ask me. It doesn't even get the cheese factor for me...

Green street is the worst film ever. A small american in 1 of the most notorious gangs in the premiership, also its supposed to be about west ham and they have a northerner 'acting' as the "GSE" (ICF rip off) leader. For the americans out there a northerner is someone from northern england who have a distinct and broad accent compared to londerners/cockneys. Its a joke.

Football Factory is worth a watch probably the closest to the truth of football hooliganism though its not that easy anymore with police intelligence and it does nothing for the persona of the premiership.

I do not know if mentioned already: The other final
Documentary about the friendly game Bhutan vs Montserrat.
It is showing how football can bring people together for the love of this game

Yes Goal2 was good. That scene with Gravesen in the elevator was great! I'm expecting Goal3.

But for me the best football movie is Mean Machine.

Goal. Definitely Goal.

Goal 2 was nowhere near as good. I stopped feeling sorry for Santiago in Goal II. He got everything he wanted, and became a prick.

The first Goal was like Rocky with a football.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this yet, but Green Street Hooligans is my favorite film of all-time, no matter what genre. Great action.
