Latest report has it : Dudek in goal with Carra,Sami,Traore, and Riise at the back. Midfield of Danny, Didi, Stevie and Emile. Owen and Baros upfront. We shall see. Official lineup on the web site in about 2 hours! I'm really itchy.,

Let's see, am I ready...

Wearing 80s vintage skinny LFC tie (gray w/thin red red diagonal stripes).
Gerrard CL jersey in my bag to wear during replay after work.
Corinthians of Murphy, Gerrard and Shankly right next to my computer.

Yep. I'm ready...

Damn. Forgot the badge of Homer in an LFC kit that I bought on Anfield Road.

Given our injury woes, this is as well as we can do, squad-wise—although the Baros-Owen partnership is intriguing for a difficult away match.

I think Matt Clark describes the right approach to take—steal a win on the counterattack if you can, but safety first. But does that fit with the prospective striker-pairing in the lineup reported by liverbird?

Remember: this is our “Hell-gig” for this group. I don’t see any match being tougher than this one.

Fingers drumming nervously on my “This Is Anfield” mouse mat . . .

Forecast high temperature here today of 80 degrees . . .
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Scarf weather!!

Soccernet.com will have their match tracker feature, but it didn't work very well for the Bolton match.

click on:
www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/sportonfive/
then click on the listen live tab, it's near the top of the page.

Programme starts at 7.00pm GMT, almost certain the match will be the feature game, if not there will be regular updates.

The quality is good and you don't have wait for ages for buffering.

Hope this helps.

that would be sweet if someone could do a play-by-play here...thanks a ton.

soccernet is usually really slow and behind (or maybe it's just my computer?)

those comments by Gonsalez really riled me up - i hope LFC takes it to Valencia real good...realistically, i think a draw would be super. Valencia have started their season well and seem to be in excellent form.

glad to see Riise at left back in the team. hoping that the defense can hold tough.

Hard to tell. Their site is up, and they mention live coverage, but no concrete mention of audio commentary. So we'll see.

In any case, I will post very frequent updates from the official audio feed.

I will do it.

Funny sight though, me wearing headphones at work and typing furiously on my computer!

As you can only post once every 60 seconds that will be a minor restriction.

Last year the UEFA.com text commentary was good. Not having a sound card in my computer at work, I never got to try out the audio commentray.

I looks like the UEFA.com text commentary will be the same again this season, but the audio commentary looks to be available on a free trial basis for now (maybe just this first CL matchday) but will become a subscription-based service soon.

But since I only can get text commentary at work, that doesn't effect me.

as per UEFA.com:

Starting Line-up
Dudek 1
Hyypiä 4
Heskey 8
Diouf 9
Murphy 13
Hamann 16
Gerrard 17
Riise 18
Diao 21
Carragher 23
Traore 30

Bench
Kirkland 22
Baroš 5
Babbel 6
Owen 10
Berger 15
Bišcan 25
Cheyrou 28

No Michael Owen or Baroš in the starting eleven as Heskey gets moved back up top with Diouf. Traore and Diao get the call in the back meaning that with Carragher just back from his injuries, we have a back line that hasn't played along side each other before.

The same four played together against Bolton. Not very effectively I admit, but they all played that match.

Once in a while I am getting the BigSoccer server is busy message. Hopefully this will go away by kick off time.

Tip for the play by play commentary. Hit refresh on your browser often and look out for the new page number if near the bottom of the page :)

Kick off in 15 minutes.

I'm thinking Diouf and Heskey have been picked due to their willingness to track back and defend.

Supposedly it is a rainy day there. Aimar will be playing for Valencia (there were some questions as to whether he would be fit enough to play), and Carew had a double in their last league game.

"We love you Liverpool, we do" coming through loud and clear on the radio.
