I'm not liking that midfield at all. Haman is important but can underachieve oftetimes. I don't believe in Alonso at all. I haven't seen enough of Warnock but I doubt he's that great. SG's injury is going to hurt him as well as the team.

I think Xabi and DiDi will prove to be a solid midfield pairing in the absence of SG. My concerns with the midfield are Harry and Finnan. I don’t think Warnock will do any less than Harry has on the left, but I haven’t seen enough of him to judge fairly. So, I say give him a shot on the left. Another possibility is to try Garcia on the left with Harry paired with Cisse or Baros up front.
What’s the latest on Nunez? Hopefully, he will be available soon, and will prove to be an upgrade on the right.

Stig Right. Straighten him up! and if its not working you can bring him on -- either for Warnock or Garcia.

Nunez is supposed to play with the reserves on Thursday so i doubt he'll be available this week. Should be back by the Greek game midweek.

Instead of dropping Kewell, how about trying him on the right? I don't want to see Finnan starting again. That way Warnock gets a chance, and Kewell can continue to try to gain his form. Kewell has been crap, but I don't think dropping him will do any good. Its not like we have have better options. Even in his terrible form, Kewell still does more for the team than Finnan does. Hopefully he will snap out of it, but you have to wonder if an injury is playing a part in his poor play.

Did you happen to watch the Scum game? Harry did ******** all except give the ball away. Finnan got stuck in on his side and was involved in our best scoring chances on flighted balls.

Edit: forgot to take my sarcastic hat off and contribute something before hitting submit. If Warnock doesn't merit a start, I'll cry. We've got a 50-50 chance of seeing Baros up front instead of Cisse.

That's a greater chance than of Cisse being onsides. I say start Baros- let Cisse earn his way back to starter. He played better when he first arrived and I think that was because he had something to prove. Oh, and weaker opponents.
Kewell to the bench, bring on Warnock.
Take the win and buy more time for Rafa at the training grounds so that he can sort this lot out.

Yes I saw the match, and I already said that Kewell was crap. But Finnan wasn't much better. He did well to get the header that led to the goal, but he doesn't contribute anything for most of the match. He isn't really a midfielder. Our options on the wing are very sad at the moment. I still prefer Kewell to Finnan even in his bad form. Kewell had some decent games earlier in the season, but I was as furious with him as anybody during the Scum game. I still don't see what good dropping him does. He needs to find his form somehow because we have nobody to replace him.

Alonso is gonna be a superstar in this league once he learns the ways of the premiership. Time to learn some patience my friend.
Of course we are gonna miss Stevie G. -- there isn't a team that wouldn't -- but Alonso will do just fine.
You haven't seen enough of Warnock -- but doubt he's that great. Well if you haven't seen him play you really shouldn't comment, should you?
Why all the pessimism? Give the new manager and the new players half a chance will ya?

3 points is a must against these canaries. They're not very good except for Robert Green. That lad is going places, He'll be in the Prem next year after Norwich is relegated.
