Does anyone plan on buying this game? I know it's not CM or anything. I guess it's essentially EA's 2003 version of Football Manager 2003?

I played the Demo, it's crap. It shows how bad the Fifa2002 engine is when it comes to strategy and team player.

Thanks for the tip! Is it like past FM versions? What's different about it from their past management games? I liked their past versions but still somehow got sucked into CM.

Downloaded the demo for TCM 2003. Here is what I think. I don't play TCM for the game engine. I'll just go ahead and play FIFA 2002 for that. All the features the game has, plus the game editor that will come with it will be great. And since it will be using the same game engine as in the FIFA series, all the patches that are made for FIFA will work oin TCM. All the kits, adboards, stadiums, ball,...ect. The player database in TCM is large. As soon as I get my copy, I'll update the team rosters from the MLS and sign a few in the EPL. :)
This is the first team managing game I have played and I must say, I enjoy it. Waiting for the full version in a couple of weeks.

Don't waste your money on TCM 2003. Wait until CM4 comes out.

I have the full version of TCM 2003 and it the same as the demo. Really the feel of the game isn't that different from the older EA manager games. It's a fun game but I can tell it's going to get old quickly because it's just not very realistic. Good teams lose all the time to bad teams. Man Utd was relegated in my second season (not that I'm sad or anything) with all the current players they have. Bolton won the Premiership in the first season when they had a crap squad. I signed world class players for 2 million pounds because the AI is dumb. If you are soccer management sim addict then get it but if you are going to just buy one this year I would definitly wait for CM4 because it's going to blow TCM 2003 out of the water. The 3D game option is a gimmick. It doesn't work well and is repetitive. The scores are drastically different if you do text mode instead. One aspect that excels over CM is the youth system. You have talent scouts that bring kids in and you can build youth camps in other countries which is fun. As far as I can tell players are not regenerated in TCM like they are in CM which is also a big plus in my opinion. Anyway, it's fun but unfortuntely it's nowhere near challenging CM for the title.

Anybody know what the graphics on CM4 are supposed to be like? I heard it's a 2D engine but that it looks pretty good. Anybody have any insider info?

"Anybody know what the graphics on CM4 are supposed to be like?"
We've evolved things along a fair bit and tried to improve upon the CM3 interface where possible ... think more along the lines of an 'evolution' rather than a revolution though.
The interface is skinnable incidentally which should means some interesting variation pop-up once its released ....
"I heard it's a 2D engine but that it looks pretty good. "
The 2D match view is looking very good, we'll be dribbling more information out on CM4 in the near future so you'll find out more about it then.
"Anybody have any insider info?"
Yeah ... but unfortunately I'm not saying anything ;)
Have Fun,

FIFA 2002 and this game should be completely different. One's a sim game and one's not.

Is TCM for US PS2 systems, or is this another Euro game only?

I just read somewhere that they tried to put the '02 engine into TCM. I made another post earlier insinuating FIFA 2002 and this game had nothing in common because TCM is a sim and FIFA 2002 is not, so this is an apology.
