You never know... they can use the justification of "unwilling to be mercenaries to the Americans." pfft.
But on the contrary I think a lot of these guys will go because a lot are pretty much ultranationalists.
Personally I think the "North Korea is our friend and buddy forever and I'd fight for them instead of with the South Korean puppet government" people are better off not joining anyway. Better they just go to North Korea.

I remember this brief interview of the lead actor I think from Shilmido and in that interview the guy never mentioned his own military experience and talked about handling military equipment like a guy who wasn't bored to death from seeing it for 2 years.

I guess that interview raised a lot of eyebrows.
