Karl,
Do you know much about how many US teams have signed up for this cup?

Nope.
I was looking over the group results for the US Club U14 National Championship -- the midwest group finished this weekend and the results were published -- and came upon this release.
So, all I know is what's in the release, which mentions just five US clubs. At the bottom of the release, it says that they are looking for more entries from the US.

My son's U-16 team had to turn it down. It did not coincide with enough of the kids Spring vacation - there was no way 6 or so of the kids could have missed 10 days of school unexcused.
I know the Rochester Rhinos (National Champs) and Delco are going in the U-16 group. I don't know if any other US teams are at this point.
It sounds like it would have been an incredible experience for the kids.
