Iran is a large country and has a variable climate. In the northwest, winters are cold with heavy snowfall and subfreezing temperatures during December and January. Spring and fall are relatively mild, while summers are cool. In the south, winters are mild and the summers are very hot, summer heat is accompanied by high humidity.

Quick question. How are females allowed to dress in Iran? I recall reading an article from an Iranian female competing in sharpshooting in the Athens 2004 olympics and she said that this is one of the few sports Iran let's women compete in because she can wear her hejab and whatever else she's required to wear, unlike swimming or gymnastics, obviously. But what about in public? Can the females wear miniskirts? Can one go to a beach and ogle bikini-clad iranian females? :D

So there are female-only parts on the public beaches? No dudes allowed? Too bad. Still I guess that's better than other countries. Which Middle Eastern countries make their women cover up everything? Which Middle Eastern countries allow their women to wear whatever they want?

I think all except iran and saudi(afghanistan was like that too before the invasion not sure about iraq tho).
Kish of Iran will soon lift the dress code to attract more tourists!
check it out http://floweroftheeast.com/
it is on its way on becoming one of the most beautiful places in the world! I went there 4 years ago and was impressed I'll never forget the dolphins in the mall! :D

http://www.ski-n-ride.com/0learning/warren-miller-2001-cold-fusion.htm#iran
Warren Miller showed a segment on skiing in Iran a couple of years ago.
Everyone involved, both tourists & locals, seemed like they were having lots of fun.
But around here, that bright sunlight in the pictures that Mani posted would mean slushy conditions & the Warren Miller guys mentioned that there's an avalanche danger.
But I have to imagine that Iran receives some nice, dry powder. Maybe some Lake Effect from the Caspian Sea?
If it weren't for the minor detail of the fact that it's on the other side of the world from me; I'd like to check it out in person.
