Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank has been on a tear so far this season.
Do you think Chelsea shouldve kept him on for another season?
Also once robben comes back mourinho will probably make him a part of the starting 11 along with drogba lampard makalele terry and cech.
So where does this leave duff--i dont think he will want to be spending time on the bench.
Do you see him leaving in January?

No. He's poaching goals against inferior competition, and was deteriorating. I see no reason to suggest Drogba's in any way worse.

No. Stupid question. Do you see Smith or Saha moving since they're clearly no longer first choice?

Depends on how he would have been used.
If he were told right out, and accepted the fact, that he would not be anything other than a small part player, coming on for the odd appearance off the bench here and there, yet still expected to fit into the new managers "I have 11 defenders on the field" policy, then he would have been great to have as the 4th striker.
However, he wouldn't have accepted anything even close to those conditions and thus it was best for all concerned that he moved on.
Duff?
He'll see the year out at the very least.

No. Hasselbaink was good for us, but it was time for him to move on. Personally, I think more about the potential Forssell and (to a lesser extent) Carlton Cole situations than whether or not we should have kept JFH.

He scored against Arsenal and New Castle. How is that Inferior competition? THe last time any of those clubs played Chelsea they walked away with 3 points?

Chelsea should have kept Hasselbaink and Crespo.
As for Duff, very needless. Robben can do his job in his place.
More importantly, Chelsea isn't doing well compared to last year

 Pay attention. The last time we played Arsenal, we took 3 points. The last time we played Newcastle in a meaningful game (i.e. not at the end of the season when you had already wrapped up the title) we hammered them 5-0.
Also, JFH's goal against Newcastle was a handball, and his goal against Arsenal was a shot to the near post that a better keeper should really have saved. And for all their scoring, Boro's behind Chelsea. So we think we're just fine.

Chelsea would be crazy to get rid of duff in jan and sent him to another prem side, he is class and a real threat, see how he started streching out our back four when he came on last weekend. Its more a question of Mourinho's tactics, sending everything down the middle for the inevitable breaking down of their all to predictable attacks. If he would allow duff space out wide, he would create tons of chances for drogba to finish and chelsea imo would be a much more dangerous threat going foward.
Then again, duff is exactly the sort of player that could do wonders for spurs, so if Mr Clooney wants to play with 3 d mids or whatever, and duff becomes surplus to requirements, then feel free to send him over to the lane. ;)

I have personally never been a huge Duff fan and would argue that a healthy Robben has more upside... plus its not like the current squad lacks the pace or offensive talent Duff usually brings to the table. Jose is a great coach too, and despite his repeated attempts to ensure exciting football never breaks out, he knows where he is taking the squad, it is working, and if Duff isnt part of that vision there's no point in wasting his time. There are handful of premiership clubs that could use his services.

No you pay attention, the last time you played us we weren't playing for points. Last time we faced each other in the league we took 3 points.

Well... that's a big hmm... goals are goals... you have not played the hardest teams really so its unfair to judge from play so far, however, he was good last year... and its not like his wages would have made you bankrupt. I have maitained he should have stayed but I guess its just a matter of opinion.. I cannot fault you guys of getting rid of him to give youngsters a chance, but Drogba will have to have a good season to justify letting Jimmy go... (and we will just have to wait.)
No. Stupid question. Do you see Smith or Saha moving since they're clearly no longer first choice?
Bad comparison, neither of them is considered one of the top leftwingers in the Prem, or in the UK, or in Europe... I mean seriously, Vicente, Giggs, Ronnaldinho and Ronaldo are all at a similar level to Duff in terms of production on the wing and all of them fancy starting... Smith and Saha are good however, not elite players like Duff is at his position... I can tell you I would rather have JFH than Smith, and I would rather have Henry/Reyes and a few others rather than Saha (that's just skill wise though, because Saha has something we want like Size and ability to play as a target).
